Casa del Shai - Chastity
The latest creation from Shai Delacroix made me coo with delight. If the name raised your eyebrows, I suggest you take a closer look, and it might become a little clearer.
With an iron key bound to the neck with leather thongs, the theme of the piece is dangled before your audience from the outset. The corset top is strapless, cups rising high from the plunging neckline and low back, fixed with a double-threaded gore above a key hole cut out. The lightly boned bodice is overlaid with lace, the texturing ‘reach out and grab it’ good; around the waist there is more strapping, a crisscross weave that supports the work of the triple hook fastening to the back.
The panties are thick around the waist, the lace rising in curves above the binding that mirrors the rest of the outfit, stringing suspenders to the front and back. The sturdy clasps grip the stockings, tugging the material to the tops. The pantyhose is semi-sheer all over, serving its purpose but taking nothing away from the crux of this design.
Because of the lay of the bonds around the body, you may find slight alignment issues on your shape, although you’d need the eyes of a critic to notice. I doubt they’ll cause you any bother. As a point of interest, do note that the arm bands and necklace are part of the top, so you do have to wear the whole lot together (well it is the whole point of the set!). The ornamentation can be matched with various outfits, or if all else fails, hide it beneath a trusty polo neck until you’re ready to reveal all.
Chastity is available in chocolate, black and pink, all of which look gorgeous on. Each colour retails at $400L and is available from the boudoir section of Casa del Shai.
Burlesque from Opium
When I took the robe and curlers off, I needed something to wear, and today I went with one of my favorites, something from Opium. Yes, the place with the addictive fashion.
I love this little bra and panty set that is part of a line called Le Burlesque because it’s elegant. One can wear it with the prim fringe or not, or one can mix and match with other elements from the line, such as gloves (L$60) a fishnet top with prim ruffle (L$150) or even pasties with tassels (L$40). The panty and bra with ruffles set shown in L$300, which I was happy to spend to wear something by Alaska Metropolitan.
In Effect - Nymphetamine
Paeoti Pomeray was the first designer I reviewed on Sexy Second, and with her latest release ‘In Effect’, I couldn’t resist blogging her again. Still, I knew you wouldn’t be too disappointed with me when you saw what was on offer.
This set contains plenty of pieces for mix and match; you can wear it as underwear, outerwear, a little for now and something for later… however your imagination allows for it.
The bodice is simply done, strapless with silver studs running under the upper trim. The satin sheen is achieved with careful lighting that brings this to life, hinting at a richness and quality in the fabric that begs attention. The back scoops low, with crossed straps to add some interest to otherwise bare skin; the top can be worn cropped or longer with the jacket layer to cover the stomach completely.
Beneath you’ll find the panties - plain but brilliantly textured and cut high to the leg. These can be worn with or without suspenders and both versions come on the trouser layer, presumably to allow for tattoos - not that you’ll want anything other than these seamed fishnets adorning your legs. The seaming here isn’t perfect (I wouldn’t like to imagine the lengths you’d have to go to in order to match all those little hatches perfectly) but anyone who is looking that closely for mesh lines when you’re wearing this needs their head examining. The big buckle details on the straps are of the same styling as those on the gloves, which you will probably feel the need to wear with everything in your current wardrobe: I love the detailing that centres these on the middle finger, making them both unusual and glamorous. They finish the set perfectly however you choose to wear the other pieces because they pick up on detailing from every section. Expertly done, Paeoti.
If you’re big on bows, you’ll adore the prim skirt which is constructed from layers and layers of delicate netting, with a solid underskirt for a little more depth. With two dinky bows to the front and a larger flexi version behind, when paired with other pieces from the set, you can construct a look that manages to be pretty as well as naughty, which isn’t something that always flows together too well.
Although this is priced at $650L, you do get nine pieces to the set to allow for a number of different looks, and can pair off parts with other items in your wardrobe. Take a trip to Nymphetamine and take a little look for yourself. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.
Laure - the siren song of Insolence
Camilla Yosuke woos me with her wicked talent, and every time she calls I go running like a well trained puppy. I’m going to be confined to a small room staring at myself for the next week because I don’t think I can get over the sheer brilliance of her new design, Laure.
This must have been crafted with love, because the warmth of adoration washes over me every time I look at this. Every care has been taken over each inch of this, from the scalloped trip at the top to the concise curves that define the base of the bodice and the edges of the garter belt. Velvet leaves adorn the sheer cups, the forest design merging into solid panels that path the front of the corset, flanking delicate ribboned arches. It’s centred with criss-cross laces that work from bottom to top, wrapping you tightly and holding everything in place. The sides have a smoky transparency to contrast the richness of the rest of the fabric, but you’ll find more velvet overlayed to the low-cut back. To finish at the front, you’ll find two prim bows which I love, but can be left off if you prefer a flatter line.
The garter belt is part of the set, but isn’t a compulsory wear as you have a few options with the set. Seeing as I’m very much a stockings and suspenders girl, the belt stays, and you can’t deny it’s one of the most fabulous you’ll see on the grid. Velvet sweeps the front, boxed in by more mesh, but there’s lace here too for some added luxury. This also appears on either side of the panties, which make perfect lines and don’t seem to bleed or smear no matter what ridiculous poses you slide yourself into.
Stockings come as part of the set, and are simple but very well made. The lack of frills and spangles means that all eyes are on the main course, which suits me just fine when you’re talking about something this special.
I’m modelling in Emerald, but Laure comes in five colours, and quite honestly they’re all equally gorgeous: but don’t just take my word for it, run on down to Insolence and try them for yourself. $290L, and worth every penny.
Lavish Style
There’s a lot in a name, and this one hit me right between the eyes: Lavish Style. “This should be my cup of tea,” thought I, and so took a closer look at what was on offer. Katy Angel has far too much in store to put in one post, but here are a few samples to stir your interest.
Because everyone’s costume crazy right now, take a look at ‘Love Bug’, a
thirteen piece set that’s rather tongue in cheek. I usually reject cuteness, but this is rather fun, especially with the wacky hairdo and antennae that give a ’stuck on an alice band’ feel. I love the gloves which are almost liquid on the skin, the spot pattern looking quite fabulous even when it stretches in motion. The overshirt is immensely detailed and does a good impression of a second skin, loaded with creases which lend a great deal of credibility. If only due to the detailing, you wouldn’t feel embarrassed to wear this shirt with a pair of pants on a less dressy day. The skirt is micro-mini to show off it’s net under trim, but you may find your legs draw more attention when dressed in these super spotty thigh-highs. Of course, you can strip down a bit further to reveal the butterfly pasties and wicked little shorts; if you want something quirky but well made, you could certainly do a lot worse than this.
‘Darkspell’ has a rubber feel to it. There is quite a lot going on here, but if you look closely you can see how the various textures, shades and patterns are quietly mimicked elsewhere to bring the outfit together: note especially the use of the interlocked hearts at the waist, up the glove sleeves, and to the front of the bodice. Red and black are always a killer combination, but this is something a little different, particularly with the neck dress. While it sits flat as part of the clothing, it doesn’t look too much like it’s etched into your skin, which I appreciate. The seams have been carefully matched, and although if you really look you may find a few parts of the glove mesh don’t sit dead on, if you’re paying that much attention you will quickly move on to all the other details, my favourite coming by way of these glorious rumpled stockings. I suspect a lot of work went into making these look effortless, and I appreciate every moment of labour. The honeycomb patterning is brought to life with careful shading and highlights, which you’ll find in evidence all over this outfit. Even the finish on the top is carefully thought out, a ragged edge working well in preference of the usual perfect trim.
I was most impressed with Katy’s new underwear, ‘Sexy Thoughts’. I love lingerie that covers everything but leaves an audience wanting more, and this set is a definite over-achiever. A sleek design, the metallic bows add a touch of definition, punctuating the arcs and frills that border the bra and panties. While the laceup details on the gloves seem a little vague, I wonder if anything sharper might have detracted from the look here: I like that it is sassy without being aggressive and can change its tone when accessorised with some girlie slip-ons or aggressive heels. Again, Katy demonstrates flair with the lighting, proving that black doesn’t have to be flat or boring: more like this and I’ll be a happy little bunny.
If you like these and want more of the same, take a look at the shop. You’ll find lots of holiday costumes just outside the front, and other releases inside.
Love Bug: $650 ; Darkspell: $275L ; Sexy Thoughts: $275L
Silent Sparrow
You don’t have to make a song and dance to advertise something this nice as I am sure Hyasynth Tiramisu of Silent Sparrow is very much aware. Still I’m sure she won’t mind if I sing praises in regard of a new release called ‘Unseelie’, created as a collaberation with Calico Creations.
Designed as a fantasy piece (the name would suggest the guise of a malicious fae), there are two horn twisted horn attachments in the set; do crown yourself with these, they go so well! You may be pleasantly surprised by the fluttering wings: they are beautifully designed with an extensive eddying pattern that is echoed throughout this set. The wings are HUD driven and flutter just a little as you float around the metaverse: I’m really not a wings person, but these charmed me in minutes.
The bodice is lovingly crafted with drawn on bow detail to frame the swirling chest panel. It’s buckled to the rear with circular clasps, making a fabulous piece of lingerie when teamed with the well-drawn panties and stockings seen here. There is also a pair of breeches included which I thought were quite charming, giving you yet another option when creating your own take on this piece.
If you wanted to try this as formal wear, you can remove the more fantastical elements and don skirts to create a very fetching gown. The overskirt curves a little unusually to give this an original slant, while the system skirt is cut well at the hem with an interesting ragged line, although this is best seen without the prim attachment.
The choicest part of this outfit though is the collar, made by Calico Ingmann, which I would love to see released as a separate piece. It’s an elegant design with patterned backing and a buckled effect matching the back of the corset, punctuated with a tiny satin bow. There’s also a ribboned bow to the back of the neck which demands attention: I admit to spending rather a lot of time admiring my neck in close-up when I donned this. I can think of a dozen outfits this would match, although of course it sets off Unseelie just perfectly.
If you’re looking for an outfit with something extra then I doubt you’ll be disappointed by this. It’s well made and not unfairly priced with twelve pieces (not the shoes) at $600L.
OPIUM Addictive Fashion
Well, I kept my promise. I found something sexy in green. Somethings, to be more precise.
I’m modelling my own versions of the Le Burlesque range by Alaska Metropolitan. They’re available from OPIUM Addictive Fashion: it’s an unusual set up, but once in the store if you peer behind the hanging display signs you’ll find a number of interesting mix and match pieces in a multitude of colours. Tassels and fringes abound, there’s plenty of swish and sparkle to keep your associates amused, at least until you find another way to occupy their minds.
The pieces are well made and allow for layering – click ‘buy’ to view the contents of each box and see what can be paired with what.
You’ll instantly feel empowered when you don the pieces in this set: it can be anything you want it to be, but I can guarantee you’ll be applying the nipple pasties to twirl away or slip on a shimmy skirt and do a bit of cabaret. I adore the gloves: whether you pick fringes or feathers, they’re a joy to wear and of course can be paired with an evening gown or other lingerie sets for added value. All of the colours have the same vibrancy of the emerald pieces; the opal sets are just as detailed to ensure that every sequin catches the light (no added bling!).
Regrettably, no fans to match. I was most put out, but perhaps this will be a future addition? A girl can hope!
If you’re feeling a bit (slightly – this is Sexy Second after all!) more modest, or the neighbour’s wife is complaining because hubby won’t stop staring over the fence, you could try the sequin micro minidress. It’s a classic in black but again is available in various shades to suit: I shamefully forgot to accessorise, but add a little clutch bag and some fancy jewels and you’ll be all set for a night on the town.
Pieces from the Le Burlesque set retail from $30L to $300L and everywhere in between. It’s pick ‘n’ mix for grownups: go and indulge!
Insolence
Neither rude nor disrespectful, this latest addition to Camilla Yosuke’s ‘Insolence’ range is at first glance not an especially exciting piece of lingerie. You may consider it a little tame, but quite frankly I adore it.
Scarlett is artful without being affected. Simple lines accentuate your body shape, with net panels to break up the silk, producing a superb
definition of texture. One of the more sophisticated designs on the market, it bares a little more flesh on the back and just a tantalising glimpse of behind. Oh Camilla, make a version just an inch longer and I believe I could carry it off as a dress…
The prim lace skirting and a teeny-tiny bow detail to the bust complete the design. At $290L, it’s a fair price to pay, and it also comes in black, red and brown, but the white appealed to the pseudo-virgin in me. I do so love play-pretend.
The shoes don’t come with the set, but they are also from Insolence: ivory pearl heels checking in at $350L a pair.
You know you have a space in your wardrobe for this one.
Black Rose from Cattiva
Cattiva has some seriously sexy undies and things, including this hot little bra, panties and stockings set called Black Rose. Sheer enough to let them see something but not so sheer you’re wondering why you bothered to put them on, you’ll love the lace work on the bra and the stockings especially. For only L$100 it’s a steal.
