RFL Posts- SLippery Skins

SLipperyRFLcensored.jpgI thought I might get out and look at some of the goodies that are available through Relay for Life, and just as I was browsing through the list over at Relay for Life of Second Life and wondering where I’d begin, Joan Philbin of SLippery Im’d me to tell me about a sale her shop is having.

Lo and behold, SLippery also has RFL skins she’s selling, a pack of 3 for L$500. The skins are very tan, one has a tanline ribbon on the hip, the other two vary in only the pubes. The make-up is only available through this year’s RFL offer and won’t be available in this tone again. Click on the pic to see Jaime in her alltogether. I do absolutely adore the pubes on SLippery’s skins.
SLippery is having a two for one sale this weekend- buy at least two skins and and she’ll refund the price of half of what you buy. While you’re there, pick up some of the RFL skins, which are not included in the sale, but are well worth having. Apparently SLippery is hard to find in search, so here’s another link.

Lacey Luxury

mannon__s_pink_lace_myra_skin_004_copy.jpg

For a really beautiful set of lingerie, I think Mannon Mannonen, creator and proprietress of Mannon’s, does one of the best jobs around! The textures are so delicate and realistic and really well executed all around. She sent me a few pieces of hers to try and I chose this pink lace set. It comes with two types of stockings - one lacy and one opaque as well as two types of undies - one with garter that I’m wearing and one lacy with no garter. The best part is that the whole set is only 180L and worth every penny I say. In the picture, I’ve paired it with another Mannon’s creation; a new skin called Myra. The one I’m wearing is the Dark Red lips with tan version. Each skin also comes with tintable eyes. A single skin is ONLY 450L and a pack of 4 for 1200L. You can pick up both the lingerie and skin as well as some fabulous clothes either at her Stella’s Mall location or her main shop on Alderney Island.

Majestic Sweet Peach lingerie with Canimal Skin

sweet_peach_lingerie_with_canimal_skin_001_copy.jpgAustie Pegler and Martini Joliat of Reasonable Desires were kind enough to drop on me this beautiful lingerie set called Majestic Sweet Peach. This is a beautiful embossed satin set that also comes with coordinating peach stockings. I’ve chosen the opaque brown shade in the photo. This set is flirty and sweet with a fuller back panty instead of a thong. Now, hold on to your hats, because this gorgeous set is only 75L! I asked Austie why such quality work was being sold so inexpensively as surely her products could fetch much more. Her philosophy has always been that she wanted everyone to be able to afford beautiful items without breaking the bank. I think most of us probably have in our inventories an item from Reasonable Desires when we were just starting out ~ I know I still do. So, on behalf of everyone I’ll say thanks to Reasonable Desires.

Also featued in the photo is a skin from Canimal made by Canimal Zephyr. You couldn’t imagine my excitement when fashion guru herself dropped on me her line of new, recently released skins called ‘Essence’. Featured in the photo is Essence Charm as well as eyes in Essence Soul Green. The idea is that each skintone is named after a different feminine quality: Grace, Charm, Mystery, Lust & Charisma. Then each makeup is the essence of something else, such as: essence of snow, of sunset, of poison.. etc. The skins include free eyes, some eyebrow sample shapes, and the eyebrows & lip colors can be changed in appearance mode. You can also add/remove lipgloss in appearance. These skins are excellently done and well worth the 800L per skin or a set of 3 with different makeup for 2000L.

Tanlines…Brilliant!

Tanlines.jpg

New skinner Joan Philbin was given a thoughtful and thorough review by our incredible Arabeth Laval last week. Joan’s endearing IM of thanks was such that I paid attention when she dropped a sample pack of her skins on me as a thank you to the SexySecond team. I was thrilled to find skins in there with tanlines, which is, it seems, a new line that her store, SLippery, has just come out with. All I have to say is brilliant. I’ve been waiting for some good tanlines, they can be wonderfully sexy.

The idea of stripping down for someone, and showing them the parts that even the sun hasn’t seen, makes stripping down that much more fun. Slippery’s skins are good, the tanlines are well executed, and the whole look is something I like. (I even wore one when doing the picture of Simone’s towel wrap yesterday and forgot to mention it). SLippery  There’s a normal tanline skin, which is very subtle, and an extreme, where the white parts have clearly not been touched by the sun. Each of the two shades is L$600. With each shade you get two makeups. (The best part about SLippery is that L$300 per skin is high for them!)
While these won’t replace my everyday skin, yet, they will be fun to wear to the nude beach or some other skin friendly venue. Put down the sunscreen, head to SLippery and give them a try.

SLippery Skin

I’m an incredibly opinionated sort of girl, and so when people actually ask me what I think of something (anything) I am very quick to pass on feedback. Unfortunately I am not always so speedy when it comes to a formal write up, because these things do tend to take me a while to put together. Of course I do eventually push other things aside long enough to come up with the goods, and so here I am ready to share with you a new release from a new label: SLippery.

SLipperyskins.jpgCreator Joan Philbin has made a collection of skins, with fifteen make ups to suit. The Natural Skins are priced at $250L each, or $2000L for the lot. If price tags like that aren’t enough to peak your interest, take a look at the goods.

The first detail that caught my eye was on the breasts. Yes, that’s where your gaze is pulled and held, because of the pink and perky nipples that are actually not quite symmetrical. The colouring is spot on, and the execution just as good, so if naked exposure is what’s important to you then I don’t think this area will be any kind of disappointment. Cleavage is amply defined for a nice look under your skimpiest tops.

The body is well toned and worked well on the various shapes I tried, the lines of the torso remaining undistorted. Certainly this looks fantastic on the typical waif, and I have no qualms in wearing all kinds of revealing costumes, or indeed none at all.

Back onto the naughty bits: this is the natural version of the skin, with complete carpeting. It’s really rather nicely done, although quite how devoted to your art you must be to spend hours slaving over each individual hair is a little beyond my imagining. Best not to complain though, for a girl should look her best in whatever state of undress she may be caught. I especially approve of the shading at the joins here, which works beautifully.

The front is more defined than the back, which has more hazed detail on the shoulder blades, spine and elbows. The markings are there, but it doesn’t share the same level of care that was paid to the front, particularly with highlighting to the upper body. A shame indeed, but I can forgive it. The buttocks are polished and neatly shadowed, the skin radiating a healthy glow which runs to the backs and fronts of the legs. The knees, backs of knees and feet are pretty indeed, but you will need to cover up the ankles which lack their own sense of structure.

SLipperymakeups.jpgJoan sent me two makeups to try: ‘Cinnamon’ and ‘Glamour’. The names make them sound delicious, and indeed I found both to be suited to its style. Cinnamon is a strong day look in rich earth tones, with full and neatly lined lips that certainly suited my current style. The eyebrows are petite, delicately arched above smoky eyes: I love the kohl effect and the blended surround, especially in this tone. The chin has a little shadow that falls beneath the lips, which I also picked up on, but again nothing that would prevent me from wearing these out and about.

Glamour was also pretty, the eyes similar but with a matt red lipstick, cheeks catching the light and dusted with blush to either side. If you’re looking for makeup that can be easily worn and matched with most of your wardrobe, these are definitely solid choices, and for the price you can’t really argue.

I do believe these are based on Eloh Eliot’s skin templates, although the work done is all hand drawn.

Just remember with any skin, try demos before you buy to prevent disappointment: to see how sexy you look in a SLippery skin, why not drop in to the store?

SLink Wrapped

Siddean Munro of SLink was kind enough to pass me some review copies of her Deena skins to share with you: these have begun her new line known as ‘SLink Wrapped’, exclusively for her skin designs.

100108Deenafair.jpgDeena fair is the line I’m reviewing (fair is my skin tone as you may have guessed) but there are two darker tones available, and there is also a fair version for blondes and one specifically for red heads to ensure everything matches as you’d expect. How thoughtful!

The skins are hand painted, realistically drawn but not photo sourced. The skin tone is light but rich, smooth throughout with thought paid to the finer detail. The throat is gently contoured, the collar bone defined with soft highlights drawing the eye down to a well-shaded cleavage. The body appears toned around the torso and stomach, but my eyes were rather more occupied with the back which is exceptionally well drawn. In my opinion, designers sometimes go all out with the full frontal, but if you turn around then everything goes a little flat… SLink skins make me want to run off and purchase a multitude of halternecks and reverse necklaces to flaunt my scapulae.

Some may feel the spine is a little overdone, but to my eyes its pretty much on the mark for the majority of waiflike avies. If you can lower your eyes a little, you’ll come to one of the most beautiful touchies you’ve ever laid eyes on: the muscles are toned and lit to perfection. There’s even a blotch of redness on the left cheek, spreading colour into the thigh: I love the finer detail and it’s evident everywhere on this skin.

Kitty is there (I never inspect too closely but feel free to peruse the demo to your heart’s content) and there is definition of the kneecaps and behinds akin to the rest of the body. I should also point out that hands and feet have been given a lot of love, and everything is there from knuckles to tendons. All very pretty. Siddean has also created manicures and pedicures specifically for this skin at the very reasonable price of $10L a pack, which are all available in store.

100108Deenamakeups.jpgThe face is pretty with rather pouty lips - you’ll either suit this style or will have to do some mouth editing to make it work, my lips are a little too thin to do this justice. The brows are neatly arced, brunette in this version, and the cheeks are dusted with blush for a healthy glow. Depending on which tones you choose, makeups vary from barely there, smokey eyes, day wear and all out glamour queen, so there will surely be something to peak your interest.

So what didn’t I like? The nipples are perhaps a little vague, and the ears are a little over-drawn for my taste - I’m really not enough in love with our in-world ears to draw attention to them - but I’ve seen worse things done to a skin, and overall I was very impressed with the line. Each skin purchase comes with a freckled option, and two choices of carpeting to make slipping into your bikini oh so much easier.

The skins are apparently named for Siddean’s friend who was demanding some new makeups… if you’re the sort of person who likes to buy one brand and stick with it, I have to say that SLink has so many makeups for this skin that you won’t have any issues in finding the ones that suit you: I think there was something to match almost every single outfit in my wardrobe (and that’s saying a lot). With a fatpack of 24 makeups priced at $2400L, you won’t be breaking the bank either.

Skin Within - Anika

Ayesha Bisiani owns a store named Skin Within that I am rather fond of, and she has just released another skin to add to her exotic collection. What you’ll find here is unique ethnic lines: if you’re looking for a flawless skin that will give your avatar the pixel perfect appeal, then you probably won’t be interested in Anika. However, if you want something different that has interesting detail and a little more about it than the typical glamour model fare, you’d do as well to keep reading.

121207SWAnika.jpgAnika is designed in a Scandinavian style and probably works best with blonde hair, although the eyebrows are (joy of joys) set in a light red. This means you can go brunette or auburn too and it will all gel well. The skin is fully modifiable, so you can change everything from your brow shape to the skin tone.

A blend of photosourcing and hand drawing lends Anika strong detail and bows toward a realistic style. The fair skin is dappled with barely-there freckles; these are done to perfection on the face, a smattering across nose and cheeks, blended to look completely natural. I was especially taken with the darker spot on the left cheek, which seems to be a rogue freckle; consider it a blemish if you will, but I love unique features as they set this apart from the standard of total symmetry.

If you slide your eyes a little further down, you’ll notice the prominent neck tendons and collar bone, the first signs of the careful detailing that features all over the skin. The cleavage is lightly drawn, emphasised more by the light catching the breasts than from any distinct lines: the nipples themselves are defined, and the kitty is there too – it does sit rather one-sided, but it’s not the sort of thing I spend hours marvelling over, so you’ll have to form your own opinion with the demos. Two carpeting options come with each makeup to suit your personal preferences.

The back is detailed with neatly capped shoulders and a defined line for the spine. Further freckling specs the skin, running all the way down to the perfect curvage of the buttocks. Around the front, the sternum splits the torso, running a line to the dimpled belly button. Texturing across the stomach is rich and even, meaning you’ll be spending December in some ridiculously skimpy clothes in spite of the cold, just to ensure everyone else can share the goodness of this skin.

There’s very little neglected, with suitably detailed extremities. I love that the underside of the feet are also defined, with skin creasing and a neat row of toes. The uppers aren’t bad either considering the restrictions of the mesh frame (the familiar long and crooked toes that haunt me every day), with neatly polished and manicured nails.

Ever the critic, I did have a few reservations: the highlights on various parts are bright from a distance. Close up they merge well, but the skin can look a little oily in the wrong light.  While overall I liked the freckled look, some of the sun spots on the legs aren’t completely to my taste. I felt they looked a little blotchy when viewed too close, but then most people aren’t going to be pressing their face that close to your thighs. I hope.

121207SWAnikaDelight.jpgStill, Anika suited me well, and I was pleased enough with the basic style. The greatest beauty in this skin though is the makeup. You can choose from day styles, evening and glitter looks, but Ayesha always does her skins with a ‘fantasy’ line, and Anika enjoys a floral theme that I absolutely can’t get enough of. ‘Delight’ is probably the most subtle of these, the eyelids smudged with purple tones, merging to a china pink that compliments the shade on the lips. From the outer corner of the eye stems a wild flower that threads into the brow and weaves to the side of the head on either side, tiny blossoms painted in a unique facial tattoo. I love wearing this and have found it goes well with a variety of outfits, the gentle tones making it suitable for most occasions.

The most dramatic and probably my favourite though is ‘Floret’, a 121207SWAnikaFloret.jpgbold look that will draw more attention than your communication window can handle. Rose red lips with a subtle shimmer set the ground for this, the cheeks lightly flushed to the sides. The eyelids are swept with a glittering gold-green, kohl lines and smudging around the inner eye for added drama. A flowering branch begins to the corner of the left brow, working up into a spray of jewel-bright leaves. Two crimson flower heads edged in gold sit just off centre of the forehead, with more laden branches pushing from behind. One falls down across the eye, emerald foliage providing a beautiful surround, the shoot ending in budded twigs that sit over the right cheek. If you want to make a lasting impression at a party this Christmas, then Anika with Floret is the skin to do it in.

As a side: if you aren’t over attached to your own shape, I would highly recommend the one that comes as part of the skin package. It flatters beautifully and is well proportioned. As always, do try the demos on before you make a purchase: what works well on one avie may not suit another quite as well.

Would you Adam n Eve it?

021207AEPandora.jpgI went on a skin hunt this weekend: I’m still trying to find something I feel at peace in, as at present I have several I switch between. When a friend told me I looked ‘adorable’ on Friday, I took that as a definite cue to go shopping. (I may be many things. Cute ain’t one of them).

‘Pandora’ is a skin line from Adam n Eve - if you’ve never been then you’re missing out on a treat: it’s a mega mall full to bursting with a wide range of clothing, shoes, accessories, hair and indeed skins. The version I’m modelling is in the 0 skintone with ‘White Fire’ makeup but there are dozens available in store, so most likely you’ll find something to suit your taste.

(Click the picture for full frontal nudity).

021207AEPassionfruit.jpgThe skin is well defined, with toned muscle and bone detail all over, without being so sharp that it looks unnatural. The neck and back are sculpted with care to ensure you look your sexy best however much skin you’re revealing beneath your outfit: the cleavage is well shaded for a solid shape. I found the nipples and belly button were a little hazy, so when you’re trying the demo do take a look for yourself to check it meets your standards: for me it was absolutely not a problem. Downstairs the mechanics are front-facing, but all it was as it should be as far as I’m concerned. Each makeup option comes with fuzz or no fuzz options for your convenience.

I liked the consistency of the colour on the skin, and the highlights across the body: The elbows and knees are shaped well and the hands and feet are pretty with appropriate knuckle and tendon lines. The nails are defined and look quite pretty even without adding glove or prim manicures.

021207AEWhitefire.jpgThe makeup is applied well, shadow sweeping over the sockets to draw attention to the eyes. The lips were subtly lined, tinted in china pink for a frosty shimmer that will work very well with a Winter wardrobe. ‘Passionfruit’ is the darker grey which suited a lot of my casual looks, while ‘White Fire’ went beautifully with evening wear, really catching the light commanding attention across a room. There are also freckled versions available, as shown here with ‘White Fire’ – the freckles are concentrated across the cheeks and bridge of the nose and you won’t find them elsewhere on the body. They’re understated and won’t overpower.

Pandora fitted my shape very well, but do make sure you try a demo first for suitability.

021207AEDare.jpgIt’s difficult to leave Adam n Eve without having a (very) good look around, and it wasn’t long before a gown called ‘Dare to be Different’ caught my wandering eye. Dare is a delicate design, the bodice held with spaghetti straps over the shoulders, supporting the opaque bra top which is overlaid in a flowery lace. The florals snake around the tops of the cups, following defined lines down the body over a sheer central panel, flecked and dotted all over.

This set is wonderfully versatile because it comes with several different options: it can be worn as a lingerie set, short skirted dress, narrow skirted gown, or full blown formal dress with suitably large skirt (not shown). The briefs with the set are little shorties which make quite a nice change from the usual thong backs – these come on the pants layer so are easy to wear with tattoos or layer with any existing garter belts you might own. My personal preference for this set was for the narrow long skirt, but any of the skirts are quite beautiful, featuring the same floral embroidery across the panels. The movement was free flowing, but I particularly like that the dress settles quickly when I am still, and doesn’t flap too wildly when dancing. There are eight colours available, and Sachi Vixen won’t mind hearing from you if you’d like to buy all eight: she’ll give you a discounted price.021207AEClassique.jpg

The shoes are also from Adam n Eve, courtesy of Damen Gorilla: these are ‘Classique’ in tan. An elegant shoe composed of a very high stiletto heel on a slight platform; the uppers are well textured with a raised section to the pointed toe tip, flattening out and then pushing up again into a cushioned ridge which extends into the sides. This feature is also reflected in a puffed banding on either side towards the heel. Classique finishes this outfit very well, and is generally a versatile shoe that will look great with any number of other outfits.

One of the nicest things about Adam n Eve is that demos are available for pretty much everything in store, so you can try before you buy. If you see something you think you like but you’re not 100% sure, try it out first: take a few friends with you for some honest opinions and have fun.

Pandora: 2 Makeups for $1800L - Makeups shown from the ‘Cover Girl’ collection (6 for $4000L)

Dare to be Different (Lemon), $900L

Classique (Tan), $175 per pair, (14 pairs in the Super Fetish Pack, $1750L)

BabyDoll’s

Babydolls don’t usually get my juices flowing – creative or otherwise – but there are exceptions to every rule. BabyDoll LaFontaine has branded her designs under the same name, and I have to say that I like her style.

Dark Geisha is probably a costume piece, but naturally that won’t prevent me from roaming the streets in it. 201007DarkGeishacensored.jpgComplete with hair sticks (not pictured, I was in a piggy-buns mood today), boots and a fan for each hand, you can leap straight out of the changing room and into your new role as a Japanese artiste with a rather naughty streak. The silk print is trimmed with silver and features black piping throughout, which meant it would be a mean feat to line up everything exactly: the bottom to top joins are not quite perfect and due to the patterning the side seams are defined, but it’s the sort of thing that isn’t really going to be noticed by anyone who isn’t obsessed with lines, as I think you can see if you scrutinise the pictures. Besides, if you choose the peephole bra top (see the linked picture for uncensored version) or indeed no bra top at all, I’m sure it will be enough of a distraction to allay any concerns.

Everything is layered so you can create your own look, which I always think is great in any outfit, and it also means some parts could be further utilised to create your own masterpieces. No prim skirt here, but the system skirt is neatly made and certainly short enough to ensure that everything beneath is entirely visible. For your convenience, the outfit comes with two versions of the teddy bottom to either preserve your modesty or demonstrate to the world what a shameless hussy you really are.

Guess which one I’ll be wearing tonight.

201007PIvy.jpgBabydoll also sent me a copy of her fantastic new release ‘Poison Ivy’. This is definitely costume, but oh so much fun. I must admit to being slightly dubious about turning quite so green, but when I donned the set I was completely won over. I feel like a sexed up dryad; I want to find some shrubbery to conceal myself in and leap out at random strangers in an attempt to inject some excitement into their day.

The makeup on the skin is very nicely done. I love the eyes; smoky tones to the lid with a dash of drama added by the red201007PIvydetail.jpg splurges at the sockets. There’s a hint of blush, and some minor blemishes across the nose and cheeks, with that superbly noxious lipstick to finish off. The shading across the body is subtle but defined enough to give rounding in all the appropriate places, with shading to the throat and back which I might have expected to be missed; in case you’re wondering, you can walk around naked without feeling ashamed, but you may have to explain the toxic green nipples. You’ll have to take a look at the kitty for yourself.

The suit itself is fairly simple in essence but it works incredibly well: the skin tight body is laced with ivy leaves and snaking tendrils, vines climbing across the back, up the arms and from the boots to the thighs. Everything you see is included with this set, save the hair: and I’m sure you can find something with a bit more jazz to it that would suit this even better. Just make sure it’s red!

Babydoll’s costumes are fun and well made; if you haven’t already done so, ‘port over and take a look for yourself

Dark Geisha: $500L ; Poison Ivy: $1000L

Skins from Jolie Femme

Jolie_Femme_face.jpg

SexySecond is more about clothes than anything, but in the case of these skins from Jolie Femme, we’ll make an exception. As a PG to NC17 warning, the thumbnail below is edited, but clicking on it will yield a full nude full size picture. You’ve been warned.

Anyhow, I was wandering around Jolie Femme the other day and one of their live models caught my attention. She was nude, which I though odd in a clothing store, so I wandered over to see that she was in the skins section. OMG, what wonderful skins! I love the texture and color and shading. The make-up sets are tasteful and subtle and look real. The skins shown here are from the Sophie series in Fair coloring. The make-up above is called Mid-Bronze Goddess-Curtain Call.

Jolie_Femme_censored.jpgThe part that I noticed most about the skins, however, and the part that gets these a mention in the SexySecond, is the wonderful work on the, shall we say, finer details. If you enjoy Second Life because it gives you a chance to revisit your real life younger years, before things started to sag, check these skins out, the nipples and areolae are absolute perfection. The pubes come with a Brazilian or trimmed, and in general, if you want a skin that not everyone else is wearing that is delightful to strip to bare, go take a look at these. Each skin is L$ 1000, a pack of four is L$ 3000, and a super mega pack of 16 is only L$ 6000.
