Second Style Media Acquires SexySecond Magazine and Blog
Second Style Media is pleased to announce that it has acquired all assets of SexySecond, including the magazine and website to add to its current roster of Second Life focused fashion media outlets. “Adding SexySecond will let us focus on a totally separate and different readership than Second Style. We are very excited to bring this new media property on board our operations.”
Joining SexySecond as the new managing editor of the magazine is well known graphic designer and photographer Elease Graves. All current advertising arrangements in effect at the time of the purchase will continue to be honored as the magazine expects to move into a monthly production schedule slated to start in September.
Second Life photographers and writers who are interested in freelance contributions to the publication should contact Celebrity Trollop or Elease Graves for more information.
Advertisers interested in reaching a growing Second Life readership are also invited to contact Celebrity or Elease. The ad deadline for our re-vamped, relaunched magazine is August 25th.

SexySecond Issue 3 Now Available as a Download PDF
I think that Issuu is the greatest thing for pdf magazines since sliced bread. Well, hold it. I need to rethink that metaphor because sliced bread doesn’t do much for pdf magazines.
A few people reported that Issuu didn’t like their browser, however, or that it was a pain to get there because Issuu wanted you to update your flash player or some other technical thingy, so not everyone is singing the Issuu praises as loudly as I do…
And then….a bunch of you contacted me or left comments that you miss the downloadable pdf version of SexySecond. Well, for all these reasons, I finally have broken down and redone the mag for download! I should warn you that it is a ginormous file (60 mb) but it is spectacular because it is truly full size, all the fabulous pictures just shine.

In the future I will do both a version at Issuu and one for download. Sorry it took me so long to get this done for this issue!

Looking to spice up your love life a little?
The ad from Strokerz Toyz, for example, will give you seriously great reason to take another look at the magazine and then go visit Strokerz. I talked to Stroker himself, and he’s excited to support the readers of SexySecond in their shopping needs, so go take a look at his ad in the magazine and then run run run to Strokerz as his offer is only good until May 31st! He did add though that you HAVE TO MENTION THE AD!
Other places are doing promotions based on their inclusion in the magazine. Samara Studios for example is offering the dress we featured for FREE if you purchase any other collection from them! I spoke with Callie Cline, and she said she might give away the Boa we featured as a gift to her group, so there’s all kinds of great things going on.

SexySecond Issue #3 Available

I am especially proud of this issue because the articles are great, but especially because of the sheer number of readers who contributed their pictures and picks for the 50 sexiest outfits. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see that so many people think so much of us!

Wanna Get Yourself Published?
I don’t know what it says about me that I’m so easily talked into things. I probably don’t want to know.
On the bright side, I do like that this time they’ve talked me into moving up the publication schedule for the next issue of SexySecond Magazine. We will put out our third issue some time in mid to late April.
To do this, we need help. Specifically, we need your “sexiest outfits in Second Life” pictures. Last time we got a wonderful group of pictures and look for more of the same. To participate, you can email me your pictures or upload them to the Flickr Group. Have your pictures in by the end of the day, Sunday, April 6.
Make your pictures as large as possible and be sure and include information about the outfit, photographer, model and anything else you’d like to include!
If you are interested in advertising in this issue, contact me as soon as possible via email or notecard and IM. I need to know if you want space as soon as possible, though the actual advertisement does not need to be in until April 6.
I’m sure I will think of ten things I’ve forgotten as soon as I hit publish, but I wanted to get the info out as soon as I had it!
Sexy Second Has Issuus
Want a great way to read SexySecond Magazine? Give the pictures of the covers a click and go read them at Issuu.com. It’s a fantastic website that has apparently been around a while but hadn’t made my radar until Celebrity Trollop pointed it out to me.
You can also read many of the great Second Style past issues there. I think they have the first dozen or so up now. I really like reading pdf magazines this way and think it’s a huge step forward for online publishing.
Take a look if you haven’t already, I know that Celebrity mentioned this on Second Style last week and I’ve heard positive things from people who I have sent the link to.
The interface is very friendly and the sizing on the screen is consistent, my two complaints about .pdf readers fixed in one nifty online thingamabob. The best part about Issuu is also the variety of magazines available. Poke around and tell me what you think!
Magazine Issue 2 Reloaded
Oh Me of Little Faith…
Jupi Noel of J Style may be the nicest person in Second Life for putting up with me. I got an email saying, very nicely, that the J Style ad in Issue 2 of the magazine didn’t look right. No one else had said anything, I’d tested the magazine on several computers with several versions of Adobe Reader. The next day, another reader emailed me with “love this issue and oh, by the way, a few of the pages don’t look right….”
Jaime goes back into the lab, screeching. Turns out, Jupi was right, Jaime was wrong. Wow have I learned a lot about Adobe Reader in the past two hours!
I’ve just redone Issue Two and corrected the problem. Your best viewing experience is still Adobe Reader 8 in full screen mode (View->Full Screen) but now, any way you choose to view the mag should work. Thank you so much Jupi!

SexySecond Magazine Issue Two
I’m very pleased to announce that Issue #2 of Sexy Second Magazine is available. To get it, head on over to the Magazine Page on the main website.
I’m especially proud of this issue because so many hands helped. Pictures were taken by our readers, our writers and photographers did their usual wonderful job and Marleen Vaughan joined our staff and did a rockin interview with the real Haver Cole you’ll have to see to believe.
As with the first issue, it will not be available in-world, but I will have some “fake magazines” available that produce a link when clicked should you want a copy for your coffee table or your store. Just give me a shout and I’ll send one over.
I hope you like the magazine, I really do.
New from Solange and a Magazine Tease
Model Raniis Winkler and I were out shooting pictures for the new magazine and we stopped by Solange! to see if there was anything new and fantastic we had to see. Raniis found the outfit to the left, which I believe is called Goddess, and which I recall comes in at least six colors. She bought it (L$900) and reports that she likes it very much, though it was a clear toss up between the black (shown) and the white (still on the wall at Solange), and the red looked rich and lururious as well.
I can attest to the fact that it looks very good on her, as you can see from the picture, and she reported that it needed very little adjustment out of the box. The set includes the jewelry you see in the picture.
So that’s our story…will Goddess by Solange make the magazine, or was it just a happy shopping trip. (Ok, I’ll end the suspense before it begins, Goddess will definitely make the mag, but what other 49 outfits will make it alongside?) Look for our next issue in a week or so!
