Luxus

luxus-bright-transparency.jpg

This hot little get-up called “Bright Transparency” caught my eye which I found at Luxus and made by Lux Haller.  It has lots of layering options depending on how bare you want to go.  I really like the texturing of this garment ~ very realistic with a subtle metallic finish.  Also available at the store is a very cool pair of metallic pants which can go with it! The shop has fab display pictures and everything including dresses and shoes too!  That always gets my shopping twitch going :)

Pixelfashion Pretty

pixelfashion-tixy-in-beige.jpg

For the first time, I visited the shop called Pixelfashion and *woot* faboo stuff there!  I was completely impressed by the professional presentation (read: fabulous pictures) and the artistry of the clothes!  I picked out two dresses that I am absolutely in love with.  The first one is a strapless cocktail dress called “Tixy” in beige.  In my humble opinion, this could very well be the NEXT big dress.  If not, then it certainly should be.  The flexi feathers of the skirt are soooo well done and realistic. I first saw a picture of this dress in March, which my Flickr friend Jyla beautifully photographed, but I’d not yet taken a stab at it myself until now.
Pixelfashion_Dorra_brown.jpg Next, I picked up “Dorra” in brown. The strapless top swathes you in velvet roping leading into the flowing flexy asymmetrical skirt which is enriched with a matching brown swirl texture on black.  Again, the texturing is superb and realistic.  I’ve not seen a top quite like this and it’s says sexy sophistication loud and clear.

The shoes are Basevi Moda color change stilettos…love ‘em! You can find them at Basevi Moda mainstore in Templegreen.

Turning Japanese

convoitise-atsuko-courte-noir-camille-hair-etd.jpg

Woah, zomg..do I love this dress or what?  This lovely stylized kimono mini is simply to die for. It’s from Convoitise and it’s called Atsuko courte noir and features fantastic flexi, long, flowing, sheer epaulettes and embellishments at the decollatage and hips.  An alluring thigh high slits at the sides of the skirt completes this gorgeous, stylish and flawlessly constructed dress.  I particularly love the abstract floral texture of the dress and and shoulder prims.  Scrumptious!

Tart it Up

tart-vivian-leopard.jpg

Imagine being on safari in the wild…tropical wind whipping your hair as you dash toward your prey coiled and ready to pounce!  That’s kind of how I felt when I was running around Tart the other day! I spied this leopard print outfit called Vivian and just had to have it and mount it on my wall…or on my butt, rather.  Adorable, barely-there miniskirt with leopard print, dangerously plunging top.  Excellently made and VERY shexshy.  I love it, bought more and I’m frantically looking for my hubby’s wallet to go get more.

Adam n Eve New Release

AdamnEve_1.jpgSachi Vixen, of Adam n Eve, has released another amazing dress.  The Samara is a gorgeous dress, with 2 skirt options, short and long.  It comes in so many different colors.  Black and silver happen to be my favorite color combo, and nothing makes me feel sexier then a simple black slip dress to hug every curve.  The attention to detail is amazing, and you’ll find the gorgeous flowers very realistic, and the perfect little touch.  The outfit comes with black thigh highs and teddy panties.

I’m also wearing a preview skin that Sachi sent to me of her new Persephone skin in Red Rocket.  Sachi is one of my favorite designers in SL because of her amazing talent in so many areas.  Her skins are quickly becoming some of my favorites, and the Persephone line offers the same quality we all love.  The lips in this range are so luscious and vibrant.  Keep your eyes open for this release coming soon.

Got Schoolgirl?

freak_boutique_thumb.jpgWith back-to-school shopping on people’s minds in a lot of real life places, I thought that the time might be right to do a little sexy back-to-school shopping in Second Life, and in my book (which I’ll cover with a paper bag book cover when I get home) that means we need to do some shopping for schoolgirl outfits. Today I’ll look at two stores, Freak Boutique and Haxworx. (Oh, and the bag you see in the second picture comes from another shop, Tori-Wear).
Freak Boutique in Stadtrand specializes in schoolgirl costumes. I was lucky enough to wander into the place when owner and designer Jenika Connolly was rearranging some of her displays to make room for a new line of cheerleader uniforms, and what a wonderful person and talented designer she is! (And look for me to go back for a future update on those cheerleader kits, wow!)

freak_boutique1_thumb.jpg

Now, in the pictures you see a lot of what Freak Boutique has to offer. The top picture shows one of four “complete” outfits that Jenika offers, and if you’re in a hurry to put together a sexy schoolgirl outfit, I recommend it highly. The “complete” collection I chose is called Monday Blues, and it really is a sweet deal if you want a well made and ready to go schoolgirl look, or even the individual pieces that make it. For just L$500, you get everything you see in the top picture, (including the shoes!) as well as a cool scripted notebook and pen set that only show up when you’re writing, so that you appear to be dutifully taking notes as you type.

The cool thing about Freak Boutique though, is that if you have the time to shop and are looking to put together something hot, Jenika sells the separates that can help. In the second picture, I’m wearing the School Daze button up blouse in charcoal (L$75) over the demi-bra (L$50) with the School Daze belted fishnet mini-skirt in faded blue (L$100). The socks, shoes, necktie, cool scripted notebook and pen- all of it is sold separately and all of it comes in like twenty-plus color combinations- yes, it’s like mix and match heaven! I am wearing, in fact the white blouse from the combination set as I write this with jeans and a sweater and look fantastic. (You may want to be sure you have a nice bra handy to go under or a sweater to go over, however, as it is a bit sheer). Go take a look at Freak Boutique, fun stuff to scratch your schoolgirl itch.

Before I move on to a totally different type of schoolgirl, let me point out the cute bag I’m wearing in the second picture- it’s a new line of bags from Tori-Wear in Ku that I thought would go very well with the schoolgirl look. The bag is just L$100 and comes with three different poses for you avatar to hold the bag (shoulder, arm and hand). It comes in several variations of color and pattern and I lurvs it.

haxworx1_thumb.jpg

For a lot of people, the idea of a schoolgirl costume evokes images of the traditional Catholic School Girl Uniform which begins with some sort of plaid skirt and goes from there; exactly the sort of thing that Freak Boutique specializes in. For others, however, a whole different culture comes to mind; the Japanese style school uniform. Haxworx is a store that specializes in Japanese school uniforms, and if you are interested in dressing up like one, this really is the store you have to see. Haxworx has several locations around Second Life, but their main store is in Crescent.

In my brief Second Life, I’ve tended to gravitate toward what I call the “Fashiony” stores that get blogged by everyone. I have a bunch of friends, though, that spend their SL hours in various roleplay or “Cosplay” (Costume Play) environments. Clothing from stores that cater to roleplay and Cosplay can vary from omg! to awful, so you have to beware, but some, like Haxworx, are truly hidden gems of SL. In the picture you see me in the black schoolgirl outfit, which is just a variation of the more traditional white and blue uniform. The outfit includes flexi prim attachments for the scarf and back flap, prim socks (as well as regular socks), shoes and the skirt itself, all for just L$250!

haxworx_thumb.jpgHaxworx owner and designer Beware Hax is not going for anything overtly sexual with his clothing, he is simply making authentic looking Japanese school uniforms. If you’re looking to sex it up for a “Best Schoolgirl” contest, I think his tops could mix beautifully with the skirts from a place like Freak Boutique, and his prices are such that you can walk away with a whole outfit for less than some stores charge for tops or jeans.

Another thing I’ve learned from my Cosplay and Roleplay friends is that a lot of the designers who make stuff for them build some pretty cool things into the clothes and gadgets. Haxworx skirts, for example, are scripted so that you can set the length with a typed command. In the first picture I’ve shortened the length of the skirt and left it alone in the second picture. And how cool is the outfit in the second picture? It’s a replica of anime character Iori Yoshizuki’s uniform, and comes with all you see for just L$300.

Do go take a look at Freak Boutique and Haxworx (and don’t forget a bag from Tori-Wear!). I’ll be keeping my eyes open for more schoolgirl outfits throughout August and September, so check back in here for more, or if you know of a great shop that has something I simply must wear for the first day of school, send me an IM!

For those who note such things: the hair in pictures one and two is a freebie/dollarbie from Gurl 6. The hair in pictures three and four was a freebie from Uncle Web Studio. The skin in the first two is an Eloh Eliot Mod I did myself (IM me if you want a copy) and the skin in pictures three and four is an Eloh Mod available at SYD.

B@R- Bare Rose Has You Covered

B_R_Golden_Moon_thumb.jpgOne of the things that occasionally chaps my pixelated bottom in Second Life fashion is that sometimes bloggers forget that most of us are on serious budgets, so I’ll be reading along about some lovely flouncy mini-skirt for only [insert princely sum here] and have a cow, or a seizure, or both. Bare Rose, aka B@R, is the antidote to my blog induced cow seizure.

Look at the rocking dress above, for example. It’s called Golden Moon and for just L$140 it comes in SIX COLORS! That’s not L$140 for each color, that’s L$140 gets you all six. The colors are blue, gold (shown below), green (shown), red (shown), pink, and purple. The neck piece is prim, and simulates wooden buttons, and some braided leather knee and elbow wraps come with it too.

B_R_Golden_Moon2.jpgNow, as truth in advertising, I had to work a bit to get the skirt, which is a prim skirt, to fit right, and to make matters worse, the prim skirt is no copy, so if you mess it up, you have to fix it. The way I figure it, with six colors for just L$140, you’re bound to get it right with one of the colors. The avie I’m wearing in the picture is a little slim in the hips, which contributed to the problem, wider avies should be able to wear this with less editing required. And you will definitely turn heads in this.

Those of you interested in such things, enjoy this: The skins and hair in the pictures so far are all freebies or dollarbies. In the pictures above the skin is by B@R and is in their freebie section. The skin to the left is the Cornsilk Skin by SYD. The hair above is a freebie by Gurl 6 called Sugary, and the hair in the left is a freebie by Moonshine called Lizbet.
B_R_Moonlight2.jpg Now, those of you who know me know that a little skirt adjustment is not going to keep me from my appointed fashion rounds, I just thought I’d lead with the one dress of several that designer June Dion and manager Tori Heart sent over that I actually had problems with, because the rest are smooth sailing and fricking gorgeous.

To the left you see Moonlight from Bare Rose, and again, what a great deal. Five colors for just L$130! The prim skirt blends well with the fabric of the “pants” and the shirt, and the highlighting, texturing and design are all June Dion’s normal excellent work. And let me say it again, you get FIVE of these for only L$130!

Moonlight comes in Black (shown above), Cian (shown below), Green (shown below), Dark Blue and Pink-Purple. In keeping with my OMG look how good you can look for so little, the other things I’m wearing in these pictures are also freebies. The skin and hair in the picture above are the same as for the single picture of Golden Moon. The hair in the picture below on the left is from Uncleweb Studio and the hair on the right is from SYD.

B_R_Moonlight_thumb.jpg The skin in both of those pictures is a mod of the Eloh Eliot skins I did. I try to be true to the spirit of St. Eloh by distributing them for free to anyone who asks. If you ever want some of my Eloh mods, just say so, and I’ll send them right over to you. (Sometimes my IMs cap, so if you don’t hear from me, say hello again or send a notecard!) Currently I have just two mods, both in the tan range you see here.

Finally, of the gorgeous stuff that June and Tori sent over (and I will be blogging more from them in the near future, trust me!) I found the swimsuit you see here, called Swallow. Swallow is a great one piece swimsuit with some gorgeous prim attachments that can make it so much more.

B_R_Swallow_thumb.jpg

Swallow comes in four colors for just L$135. Along with the one piece swimsuit, which comes on both pants and undies layers, you get a prim wrap and a prim bow, and a matching bangle, flip flops and even a necklace! OMG, four colors, shoes, bangle, necklace for L$135!

So, readers, that’s what I found for you this week, and just because Bare Rose has so much stuff it can be overwhelming, as of the time I’m writing this, all three of these outfits are on display at the landing area at B@R’s HQ so you don’t have to go hunting.

This is my first post for Sexysecond.com, and I’m very happy to be blogging here. I hope to bring you clothes, avies, skins, hair, hats and accessories that make our readers feel sexy and won’t break the bank. If you have any feedback or comments on my blogging I would love to hear them either here on the blog or in-world.

Ilona by Fashionity Fantasy

Fashionity_Fantasy_Ilona_and_Hair_by_Cher_Bella_001_copy.jpgCuteness alert from Saku Koltai of Fashionity Fantasy! This casual mini outfit is so sweet I could eat it with a spoon. It’s called “Ilona” and is comprised of a seriously sexy belted, washed denim, miniskirt with an adorable flounce at the hem, a plaid tank and embellished shrug jacket with lacy prim sleeves. Perfect outfit for your favourite hangout or that shopping trip :)

With the outfit, I chose Hair by Cher called “Bella” in blonde and black. You can find this style and TONS more at the Hair by Cher Boutique on Hillcrest Estates sim or at Stella’s Mall on Stella Isle.

Have some Cachet

Cachet_Roisin_jacket__chic_boutique_satin_pants_BLOG.jpgI have a pantsuit that I really like called “Tilda” from Cachet, so I thought I’d check out the shop for some more gems. There, I found this faboo black jacket called “Roisin”. It’s a really dramatic puffy jacket with bikini bra top for underneath. This thing screams “check me out!” So, of course, I love it. I paired it with satin trousers from Chic Boutique, part of the black satin suit outfit.

Hair is by Dernier Cri called “Kate” in golden blonde #3. Asuka Martin of Dernier Cri is a hugely talented hair designer, on par with ETD quality in my opinion. I’ve been putting off blogging it because I wanted to have fabulous hair that not *everyone* was wearing, but after a recent fashion show featuring it and some “best in the biz” bloggers covering it, the secret’s WAAYY out there. So, here we go and I can’t wait for more styles.

Fashion Forward

Fashion_Foward___Most_Wanted_003_copy.jpgI went on one of my random fashion find hunts this morning and came across a shop I’d not heard of called Fashion Forward Designs filled with things from a designer named Jenna Etzel. I took a peek and was quite pleased with what I saw. I saw a bunch of outfits and dresses that were really “me”, so I picked up a few. The one featured in the picture is a cute black shorts and halter set called “Most Wanted”. I really like the texture treatment of the top and the embellished textured belt of the shorts. The shop has a little bit of everything from dresses, casual outfits, business wear, swim wear, and men’s clothes too! It’s worth a peek!
