Boots and Bargains from Dark Eden

Dark_Eden_boots.jpg
I realized the flaw in my plan as soon as I hit “publish”. I had intended to blog a few things from my wonderful pile of Dark Eden things and then a few more and then a few more because it’s getting late here in Fannie land and if I don’t get my sleeps I’s a cranky girly. As soon as I hit publish on that first post, it occurred to me that I should probably blog the rest of it or you’ll either go to Dark Eden and see all the cool things there, making my blog posts worthless, or you’ll go to Dark Eden and only look for Erebus and be mad that I didn’t tell you all the great things to look for! Either way, Fannie doesn’t look good, so I’m burning some midnight oil to get some of this sexy goodness on the web for you.

First of all, let’s talk boots, because Dark Eden has them and they are magnificent.

Dark_Eden_boots2.jpg Above you see the queen of the Dark Eden line of boots, Tanith. It comes in two styles, one with the engraved metal buckles and one without. Each style comes in 7 colors and each color is L$200. You can get all of the colors in a fatpack for only L$800. To the left is a great boot, Thetis, which also comes in seven colors and is L$150 a color (or the whole set for L$600). Thetis also has a set of matching strappy “gloves” which are more like prim leather bands and straps that are highly recommended for just L$25 a color. This is one of the reasons I so love Dark Eden. It’s good stuff and it’s a bargain- imagine eight pairs of these elegant and stylish babies for only L$600!

Speaking of sexy fun and bargains at the same time, I didn’t get a picture of them, but if you’re a fan of BDSM things, Dark Eden sells a multi piece all prim rope outfit called Shibari. It’s as if you’re wearing a nylon rope (in any of five colors) for just L$250. Take a look at their display of leather harnesses also, all prim and top quality.
Dark_Eden_skirt.jpg

If you’re looking for something a little less fetish and a little more mainstream, take a look at the incredible deal that is the Nu Kua skirt outfit at left. It’s just L$50. That’s not a typo, L$50. It includes two arm bands, a choker, two thigh garters, two types of shoe, the top on undershirt, shirt and jacket layer and two sizes of the skirt, which has an adorable fringe hem I might add. If L$50 is too much for your budget, the pieces are sold individually as well she said, her tongue firmly in her cheek. (But actually, the pieces really ARE sold individually, so if you want a killer garter and nothing else, go to dark Eden and pick it up for just L$15). Nu Kua comes in a choice of 7 colors.

While you probably don’t think of Dark Eden as a place for jewelry, do take a look at their “Chants” which are complex arm, wrist and ankle coin bangles. You have the choice of Gold, Silver or Black Iron. I got the latter and am quite taken with it. For L$200 it’s a good deal for a very well made distinctive piece of prim jewelry. You'’ll find them on the second floor, but they are most easily seen by standing on the first floor near the Tanith boots and using your camera to go straight up.

Dark_Eden_silks.jpg Finally, to the left here is the dark Eden Cephalopod silk in Obsidian. The silks are all prim, and include several pieces of gorgeous prim metal work to complement the silks. They come in your choice of obsidian or silver, and the whole set is only L$250. I found the fit to be funny until I realized that they are meant to hang on your hip, not tie around your waist. Once I figured that out I was good to go and they nearly fit my avatar out of the box. There are two sizes of everything complicated in the folder for even more ease of use.

Well dear readers, that is my pile of wonderful things from Dark Eden. I was only familiar with the place in passing until the last week or so and I’ve really come to be a fan. God quality, imaginative and very sexy merchandise for a very reasonable price. Sounds good to me and I hope it does to you as well.

Deeper into the Kitties Lair

I just logged in to publish and found I’d been beaten to the post by Fannie: but since I’d already done my write-up and none of the items we reviewed were the same (phew) I didn’t think this would bore you too much…!

***

Babette Ultsch of Kitties Lair sent me a couple of items for review, both of which I am very excited about.

060108Kittieslairvenice.jpgI have to start with the boots – purely because I can’t contain myself, and if I don’t rave wildly about them now then I might explode under the pressure. These are Venice boots in Worn Brown, and to my mind they are wearable works of art. The stacked wooden heel is capped in black, and set on an undersole in light tan, detailed with a central stripe and dark tip beneath the toe. The boots are rounded, double banded and buckled around the ankle, and rising into a slouched leg with central panel detail. Downturned cuffs split to the top, curving to an opening at the back which is filled with a floppy leather bow; they sit below the knee, possibly lower if you have legs that stretch to the heavens.

The boots are supplied with a larger calf size for those who are better fed than I am, and there are several other colours available in store. Currently you cannot turn the bling off, but having spoken to Babette she is working on a release in the near future that will allow for this, as well as a dialogue option to change the trim colour. For anyone who knows a little about modding scripts (well, deleting them), the script is hidden in the trim parts, so you can effectively wipe the bling yourself if you don’t like it as the boots are copy/mod.

060108Kittieslairtiffany.jpgKitties Lair also stocks outfits, and ‘Tiffany’ really caught my eye. You can never have too many little black cocktail dresses (and I will continue to argue that point with my therapist), and this one immediately grabs attention as you float by. Tiffany has a daring plunge neckline, broken by two buckles that join across the torso, combining sheer mesh side panels with the opaque surrounds. The back is crossed and then lies open to the lower back, with a single thread across the spine.

The underskirt sweeps in an unusual cut, a slanted mini to the front with a longer length behind. This is overlaid with layered mesh hung at different lengths, short and choppy at the front with a longer more even line to the rear. This is creative and distinctive, giving this little black dress an edge that I am very fond of.

The black areas are very matt, and on my avatar there was a small seaming issue where the top and bottom join (you can just see flesh peek through) although I tried a couple of other shapes on to varying effect. You may not notice this at all, or you may simply find it a negligible flaw. It certainly wasn’t enough to put me off. The dress also comes with drop diamond earrings with bling – I don’t like super sparklies on my person, but if this is your thing then it’s a nice extra with the set.

Kitties Lair has plenty more to sate your clothing desires, so take a wander down and see for yourself.

Quelle Scandale! Bishwear by DBS Heart

dbs_heart.jpgSorry I’ve been so scarce around these SexySecond parts for so long. I blame it all on the tidal effect of the moon and my crippling addiction to chocolate. (I’m back from rehab, thanks for asking, but in danger of a relapse at any moment!)

I knew as soon as I saw this outfit come across the release wire on Fashion Consolidated that it was something I’d want to show off here. DBS Heart (aka ShyOne Lehane) has two lines of clothing, Bishwear and Scandal, both housed together at Cecil (130, 55, 91). This sleek, slick and sexy little outfit is named “Scandal.” Shown in black, it’s also available in a very very dark blue if you prefer to be a bit less chromatically challenged. (But, really, since when do dominatrixi choose blue over black?)

I am also showing the brand new Ophelia boots in this photo too. These sky high platform thigh high boots have lots of chains and buckles just in case your viewing audience isn’t clear who is in charge. With a wicked steel heel and plenty of sleek shiny latex highlighting, these boots weren’t exactly made for walking, no matter what Nancy Sinatra sings.

A final note about this outfit. Shyone Lehane also makes some gorgeous skins, as you can see in this photo because I’m wearing her skin under this outfit. As you can tell, it has some absolutely beautiful body shading on the abs, tummy, and back. The makeup is smoky and dark, perfect for this kind of sexy dungeon domme look. Might be a one-stop-shop for all your sexy, slinky needs. It often is for me, personally.

Boots on Fyre

rfyre_boots.jpgrfyre.JPG

Rfyre sent me a new release called Wanderer. Billed as a free spirit, who finds her ways on the moors and mountains, this is a simply incredible 13-piece outfit that guarantees being a free spirit is all about absolute abandon and sheer devil may care attitude. I have to say this totally rethought my image of Rfyre from gothy to texture goddess and dead sexy designer. Being I have been a blonde in sl for a very long time and not gothy in the least, I really have fallen madly in lust with the direction Rfyre is going in now.

rfyre1.jpg

The flex boots are simply to die for and the coat comes with both upper and lower prim attachments for both narrow and large avies. The boots are black and have an exciting detailing of a silver rose. The pants come in both boot and longer length sizes and the shirt layer has a rounded neckline and sliver accents. If that’s not enough to wet your whistle, if you are a Rfyre group member for a limited time you can get a bonus jacket and pant set that has crimson red accents. I mean this is one outfit to ooze over…sold for L$ 800 you too can be the ultimate wild woman

Bobbysocks - Feeding my Foot Fetish

Everyone has their Achilles heel. Mine is boots, and I am a compulsive buyer. As such, Bad and Beyond Bobbysocks drove me into a frenzy when I stopped by their store and was faced with a room full to bursting with all manner of glorious footwear. Having scraped my gibbering body from the floor and managed some semblance of composure, I got on to the important business of selecting a couple of pairs for review.

011207Bobbysockslacespike.jpgThe Spiked and Laced boots were my first choice: short, pointy-toed stilettos to give your outfit an edge. Burnished leather in an inky blue-black provides the base set, with closely spaced catches running in parallel to the front. The boots are laced with thick plaited cord which hangs in generous bows to the front: the ankle is belted with a spiked strap that fastens on the outer side at the heel, the excess rounded to finish. The base has a low platform, arcing sharply and dropping to a thin heel that defines the look. I’m sure I have plenty in my wardrobe to go with these, but quite frankly they deserve an outfit all of their own. Besides, it’s the perfect excuse to go shopping later.

011207BobbysocksNordic.jpg‘Nordic’ was my second pick: or rather they begged me to take them home. When I slipped into them though, I did find the spikes rather savagely digging into my legs, and had to send them away to Bad for a little remodelling. Apparently my virtual self has short legs – still, Bad returned my boots custom fitted at no extra charge. As all Bobbysocks boots are sold transfer/no mod/no copy, you can benefit from the same service if required. Send your boots to Bad Bobbysocks with a notecard detailing you avie’s height, leg length and muscle (Go into appearance mode and take the numbers next to the appropriate sliders. If in doubt, send a copy of your shape) and he’ll do the rest. Smashing.

When I did get my boots back, I was delighted. The twisted print material makes these boots interesting as soon as you set your eyes on them, but the trimmings are what thrusts these forward into the limelight. A spiked circlet caps just beneath the knee, the shelved edges trimmed in smooth silver. Similar bands lie further down the leg (I might have to plead for a matching set of bracelets and cuffs, or a choker at least). A split leather belt catches over the heel, the upper part adorned with a single row of spikes and a silver skull affixed to the front, the lower strap draping down over the metallic spike heel, more skulls evenly laid between two rows of spines. The toes are set with metal, a raised side backing onto the shoe itself; the sole is steeply arched for superb shape. If I were Bobbysocks, I would have put these in an art gallery and sold them to the highest bidder, but fortunately for us they’re more widely available to be enjoyed.

There are many more designs, including some festive beauties available in The Bobbysocks Shoppe. Go and take a look for yourselves or encourage your significant other: remember, these are transfer and Christmas is only 24 sleeps away…
