B@R- Bare Rose Has You Covered

B_R_Golden_Moon_thumb.jpgOne of the things that occasionally chaps my pixelated bottom in Second Life fashion is that sometimes bloggers forget that most of us are on serious budgets, so I’ll be reading along about some lovely flouncy mini-skirt for only [insert princely sum here] and have a cow, or a seizure, or both. Bare Rose, aka B@R, is the antidote to my blog induced cow seizure.

Look at the rocking dress above, for example. It’s called Golden Moon and for just L$140 it comes in SIX COLORS! That’s not L$140 for each color, that’s L$140 gets you all six. The colors are blue, gold (shown below), green (shown), red (shown), pink, and purple. The neck piece is prim, and simulates wooden buttons, and some braided leather knee and elbow wraps come with it too.

B_R_Golden_Moon2.jpgNow, as truth in advertising, I had to work a bit to get the skirt, which is a prim skirt, to fit right, and to make matters worse, the prim skirt is no copy, so if you mess it up, you have to fix it. The way I figure it, with six colors for just L$140, you’re bound to get it right with one of the colors. The avie I’m wearing in the picture is a little slim in the hips, which contributed to the problem, wider avies should be able to wear this with less editing required. And you will definitely turn heads in this.

Those of you interested in such things, enjoy this: The skins and hair in the pictures so far are all freebies or dollarbies. In the pictures above the skin is by B@R and is in their freebie section. The skin to the left is the Cornsilk Skin by SYD. The hair above is a freebie by Gurl 6 called Sugary, and the hair in the left is a freebie by Moonshine called Lizbet.
B_R_Moonlight2.jpg Now, those of you who know me know that a little skirt adjustment is not going to keep me from my appointed fashion rounds, I just thought I’d lead with the one dress of several that designer June Dion and manager Tori Heart sent over that I actually had problems with, because the rest are smooth sailing and fricking gorgeous.

To the left you see Moonlight from Bare Rose, and again, what a great deal. Five colors for just L$130! The prim skirt blends well with the fabric of the “pants” and the shirt, and the highlighting, texturing and design are all June Dion’s normal excellent work. And let me say it again, you get FIVE of these for only L$130!

Moonlight comes in Black (shown above), Cian (shown below), Green (shown below), Dark Blue and Pink-Purple. In keeping with my OMG look how good you can look for so little, the other things I’m wearing in these pictures are also freebies. The skin and hair in the picture above are the same as for the single picture of Golden Moon. The hair in the picture below on the left is from Uncleweb Studio and the hair on the right is from SYD.

B_R_Moonlight_thumb.jpg The skin in both of those pictures is a mod of the Eloh Eliot skins I did. I try to be true to the spirit of St. Eloh by distributing them for free to anyone who asks. If you ever want some of my Eloh mods, just say so, and I’ll send them right over to you. (Sometimes my IMs cap, so if you don’t hear from me, say hello again or send a notecard!) Currently I have just two mods, both in the tan range you see here.

Finally, of the gorgeous stuff that June and Tori sent over (and I will be blogging more from them in the near future, trust me!) I found the swimsuit you see here, called Swallow. Swallow is a great one piece swimsuit with some gorgeous prim attachments that can make it so much more.

B_R_Swallow_thumb.jpg

Swallow comes in four colors for just L$135. Along with the one piece swimsuit, which comes on both pants and undies layers, you get a prim wrap and a prim bow, and a matching bangle, flip flops and even a necklace! OMG, four colors, shoes, bangle, necklace for L$135!

So, readers, that’s what I found for you this week, and just because Bare Rose has so much stuff it can be overwhelming, as of the time I’m writing this, all three of these outfits are on display at the landing area at B@R’s HQ so you don’t have to go hunting.

This is my first post for Sexysecond.com, and I’m very happy to be blogging here. I hope to bring you clothes, avies, skins, hair, hats and accessories that make our readers feel sexy and won’t break the bank. If you have any feedback or comments on my blogging I would love to hear them either here on the blog or in-world.

Freebies

Rosemar.jpgI have a couple of items on the theme of “freebies” I would like to share. First is that Rosemar is giving away 12 tones of “Creampuff” (see one to the left) right now at the new store at PopFuzz. I’ve only worn the skins for a minute or two but Rosemary Galbraith’s work has always been strong enough to warrant a look at anything she’s selling, let alone something she’s giving away.
Also, while you’re there, you might want to jog across the street to Popfuzz for their basement sale. Tons of items, each for just L$25! Go now, come back and read the rest of this post later, I understand.

The other thing I wanted to do was give a thank you and public shout out to Cherlindrea Lamont over at our sister blog Fabulously Free in Second Life. I rarely get any time to goof off in Second Life anymore, but this weekend I found myself with a couple of hours and took a newb shopping- or better yet, freebie-ing. I’ve flown many a newbie to the freebie shops, but this time I spent some time with the Fabulously Free Blog open and checked out some of the freebies described over there. What a fantastic thing that blog is for us! I know there’s a legion of loyal readers over there, and on behalf of us I say thank you for finding these treasures!

Pretty in Pomegranate

simone_serenade_in_pomegranate_1024_size.jpgSimone Stern is a design goddess!  Not only is she supremely talented, but she’s also put all of her stock up for sale for a paltry 100L each (with the exception of one new limited edition dress).  It had been awhile since I’d bought any Simone formal wear, so I thought I had better go take a look.  Ten dresses later, I had to decide which one to feature.  All of them are gorgeous, so I decided on this one called Serenade in Pomegranate complete with flexi feather boa, gloves and stockings. There’s beautiful, intricate beadwork on the bodice and a subtle sheen to the gloves.  There’s also a repeat of the beading at the hem of the flexi skirt prims.  If you haven’t hit her sale yet, it’s a good idea to go soon.  While I was at the store, Simone announced that after this sale is done, the items would be discontinued.  So run, don’t walk to Simone!

Jarnia Underground

Jarniafeather.jpgJanine Jewell has just released some super new outfits at Jarnia Underground that I have been itching to share with you. Normally I wouldn’t throw out a review so soon after we release the new magazine, but I suppose I’ve been neglectful lately, so a little treat may be just deserved!

This feathered gown is luscious: your neck and shoulders are caressed with raven plumage, the high collar cutting off above the chest and leaving an open panel to display most of what you have to offer. You can add a bra as a faux modesty layer, but it’s lovely without: even my humble curves are promoted to verifiable mountains with this flattering cut.

There’s a lovely bustle around the waist, beneath which the skirt falls, softly decorated panels that finish in a deeply arced edge. There is a thread line to the base – a transparency issue, I think – but it really didn’t bother me at all. The dress is richly textured and well styled, making a reasonably priced and sexy  addition to your formal collection.

Jarniagoldbikini.jpgIf you’d rather be at the beach than the ballroom, you could consider this pretty gold/green cheque bikini which is also new in store. I love the strapless top; the cups don’t quite cover your assets, material linking centrally around a gold hoop, with a strappy back and detailed clasp finish. The lower half is just as nice, a scalloped thong backed panty with side ring detail at the front: I had no seaming issues, just functional, pretty swimwear with a very nice $100L price tag. That makes me a happy little beach bunny.

Jarnialingerie.jpgOf course, we couldn’t forget the new lingerie that Janine has put out, especially not when it’s in red and black lace. Yummy. Thin straps support a full bra, bright ribbon bow centring above the split coloured cups: the lace overlays the frame, small circles slipping beneath the wiring at the breasts, with a transparent sides and back. I appreciate the opaque detail that indicates a hook fixture: realism, especially in lingerie, always makes me smile.

The panties are quite full (as far as SL panties go), covering a good third of the buttocks. The edges roll softly, with sewn seams to front and back and another little bow to finish.

If you haven’t sampled Jarnia Underground before, you’ve certainly been missing out. The store is growing all the time, and there are plenty of lovely dresses, casuals and accessories to browse through. Don’t just take my word for it though: take a look for yourself!

Zipz! - She’s on Fire

I’ve introduced quite a few of my friends to this store: it’s one I found by chance one day and have been a huge fan of eversince. It’s huge, stocking clothes, jewellery, tattoos and probably other things I haven’t discovered yet: the designs are pretty fantastic, but I just love Dunja Hian’s creations.

200108ZipzLunar.jpgLunar is really a hybrid of body art and club wear. I adore it. The artistic merits of this outfit will transform you into a gallery exhibit, but if people want to stand around examining me and making suggestions as to what the designer and indeed the model are feeling/thinking, I am sure I am capable of dealing with all that extra attention.

The neck is rimmed with silver, metal spiking and curling in a free-moving pattern. The polish is evident, ruby stones set at intervals for added vibrancy, their surfaces clear and defined. The leather beneath sits tight to the skin, following and filling the twisting overlay which seems congruous to back and front.

The panties centre on a gemstone flower, scrolling details flowing in silver throughout. The trouser legs are high to either side, more metalwork reaching upward and curving around the buttocks and high up the thighs at the front, tripping easily down either leg where they stop at the knee, allowing for a plain bootleg flare to the base. Should you prefer, a pleated black skirt may substitute, drawing your attention fully to the body work and ornate arm sheathes.

200108ZipzFire.jpgIf that’s not hot enough, you can set yourself on fire with this little number, again with the pants and short skirt options, and also a long skirt which I haven’t shown for the simple reason that I couldn’t get everything in the picture. This set comes in a deep crimson, the edges charred and cut at angles in a distinct flame motif, reemphasised with a red and gold blaze licking up the bodice.  There is very little to the back: a double chain holds everything together, with links to the front to seal the keyhole opening.

The same features on the panties, which can be worn alone or with the set trousers, which hang from short chains at either side. They’re shaded with highlights to the knees, the inferno graphic flaring on the thighs: the skirt is similarly drawn with symmetrical fires on each panel. The longer version reaches the floor, the pattern exaggerated and enlarged to reach half way up the thigh.

Zipz! clothing is always very reasonably priced. Permissions tend to be transfer and no copy, so you can get your wear out of them between all of your alts (or your friends if they don’t object to your hand-me-downs). The quality is excellent, and while this isn’t your average fashion house, it does produce the most amazing club wear. If you want something very sexy, a little out of the ordinary, or just fancy seeing some inspired fantasy design, you really need to check out Zipz!

Lunar, $198L ; Red Fire $239L

Dazzled by Fireflies

Fireflies is a new to me store that I wanted to share for two main reasons:

  1. Everything is definitely sexy.
  2. Everything is priced at either $1L, $5L or $100L

050107FFIsobel.jpgIf that’s got you interested, have a little lookie at a few of the options. My first pick was ‘Isobel’ for $100L, a black lace mini with two skirt options, and a sheer and less sheer styling. The dress comes complete with a matching shrug which caps the shoulders and covers the back, but it can be worn with your own overlayer or indeed none at all. The strapless dress has a scalloped bandeau bust, the stretch lace clinging to the body all the way down to the thighs. The choice of skirt is either a puffed overlayer or a skin-tight mini: team with simple stilettos or knee high boots and you’re good to go.

050107FFEden.jpgEven in its sheer form, Isobel is perfectly modest, although you may find people spend a little too much time trying to see just how much they can see. If you prefer, Isobel is also available in white and in red.

My biggest bargain was ‘Eden’, a short black party dress that is as seamless as it is strapless. Amazingly, this dress is priced at just $1L, and there is no reason whatsoever for not going and buying this, even if your inventory is more full than a greyhound that’s been locked overnight in a sausage factory. If you don’t already own a little black dress, this could easily be it: simply gathered down a central seam at the bust, with lace trim along the neckline, there are further crumples in the material over the belly and bottom for fabulous detail. The cheeky skirt is rather transparent and finished with lace for a girly feel: you want to own this dress because it’s gorgeous, and it won’t break the bank to do it.050107FFLyra.jpg

Another great find was ‘Lyra’. This cross halterneck cuts low to the front, making the most of your assets. A diamante buckle sits between the breasts to decorate the central strap, thin cords creating a large X at the back. The same detail feature to the open front, catching at the back of the skirt and supporting its weight; the short and ruffled design has a mesh feel, and shorts are provided for modesty. You receive both the black and red versions for a mere $1L.

Finally from my selection is ‘Sexy Glam’ at $100L. This mini is perfect for clubbing, with halterneck crossing into under-studded strips that cover the chest, leading down to the open torso. The dress closes again beneath the belly button, falling into a ruffled mini skirt that has more super creased detail 050107FFSxyglam.jpgacross the buttocks at the back. Like Isobel, this can also be worn as a tight dress, with flappy panel sitting between the legs to finish the skirt. I personally prefer the bigger skirt as there was a bit of inner leg smear when I pulled some of my usual poses, but you won’t have any problems if you’re slightly more ladylike.

I could have posted numerous other outfits, but I think this ought to be enough to prompt you to take a look for yourselves. Scoot down to Fireflies and have a browse through: I’m sure you’ll find some blinding bargains too.

Sand Dollar: Fruits Basket

(Yes, more lingerie. But it’s so inexpensive, I just had to…)

Sand Dollar is a new lingerie label from Lavender Lamington, and the first release comes to us by way of ‘Fruits Basket’, with a total of eight design choices, each one costing a very reasonable $125L. You can also purchase a fatpack for $800L: at $100L per set, you can’t really argue that it’s good value for your Lindens.

221107SandDollar.jpgEach hand drawn set is based on a fruit, featuring a themed print and colouration to match. ‘Blackberries’ is the black set, ‘Cherry’ is red, ‘Grapes’ is purple – and so on. The sets feature bra and panties on two layers, plus a pair of yummy thigh highs and prim bow sets to decorate.

The look here is delicate and feminine, the triangle print bra hiding most of the breasts but leaving a little uncovered on all sides. The central gore and halter neck are trimmed with white lace, the straps accented by coloured prim bows above either cup; there is another bow with long ribbon ties that hangs down to the back, which is a nice touch.

The thong is also printed with its themed fruit, bows to the front on either side. It has the same frilly trim. My favourite part of the set though is these thigh highs – as you can see they do actually come up to standard and don’t end over the knee or half way up the leg, which I see in a disappointing number of supposed ‘thigh highs’ on sale. They’re demi-opaque with spots over the leg, finished to the top with coloured ribbon, lace and more little bows to the backs.

Looks good enough to eat.

The seams are ever so slightly mismatched, the outer left on the thigh high tops and the right hand side on the panties are the two obvious ones: these were not a real issue for me, and you certainly won’t notice from a distance. You will find demos at the store, so if you’re picky you can try yourself before you buy. Pay Sand Dollar a visit, I don’t think you’ll be disappointed.

SLink! - New Lingerie

I reviewed SLink! on my personal blog not so long ago, and Siddean Munro IM’d me the other day to let me know she had released a new lingerie set, which I was all over before you could say “rabid reviewer”.

211107SLinklingerieblack.jpgIf you’re looking for something classic but not too fussy, these sets are just perfect. The bra straps cut quite unusually, angled at the front and then vertical but more central to the back, but the placing means you can easily wear these with sleeveless tops and not have any nasty show through. I like that; I’m forever getting up on my high horse about girls who don’t bother concealing underwear beneath their clothes (most frequently when I’m wearing skirts that pass for belts and a shirt that leaves very little to the imagination). The cups are solid and full, with a little lace detail above each cup. What I really like is the attention paid at the back on the clasp, which is actually drawn on: I mean how many clothes do we all own that have no feasible way of having gotten on our bodies? I like these little touches, although they make me greedy for more.

211107SLinklingeriecolours.jpgThe panties are generous on the bottom, the high leg gathering density with more lace trimming which is well matched at the seams. They sit fairly straight on the body meaning they work well with most trouser layers, even if they are low cut. The hold ups are well made, thick lace banding and light back seams to compliment the sheer legs.

The colours are versatile enough to be matched to your favourite outfits: I put together a little collage of the colours available, although I missed white (I trust you would have a good idea what that might look like) and modelled ‘Champagne’ in a darker skin as it didn’t show up so well on my pale complexion.

If you like what you see, take a trip over to the SLink! store. You can pick up individual colours for $100L or snap up the whole lot for $400L.

Bonus Day

gauze_001.JPG

Today I had the great luck to find two yummy sexy freebies, which only proves that wandering around the grid is not only fun but fantastic for finding quality sexy loot.

The first offering I got is called O My Red Gauze! Originally offered as a Halloween freebie but still quite available it takes gauze to a new and definitely enticing level. There are many options available on this outfit and it’s really giving me thought to just how sexy gauze can be, strategically placed. It comes with two flexi Gauze pieces, red ripped gloves, red gauze jacket, red gauze panties without and with garters, red gauze pants with and without garters, a red gauze shirt and undershirt, and stockings with and without the clips for garters. It’s really a stunner and very free, I think I will be playing
with gauze for some time to come. Just shows that the ancient art of mummifying using gauze has quite a live kick to it! Check it out at Battered Boudoir.

Amy_002.jpgThe second outfit is called Pink Rose Lingerie Set and is comprised of a bra worn on the undershirt layer, a thong worn on the underpants layer and a Prim Baby Doll attachment which fits on one’s stomach. This attachment adds the layered Baby Doll look to the outfit. I find it a really sweet sexy lingerie outfit, and I love the heart that is shown in the “heart of things” placement.  The pink roses on the bra add a really nice looking touch as well, and it’s innocent, yet alluring at the same time. Made by amyemily Francis, it can be found on the second floor here.
