Mashugana for Mashooka

mashooka_018_copy.jpgmashooka_016_copy.jpgToday I bring to you a saucy little number from Mashooka Designs called Sweet Lace in green. I think it looks adorable with or without the baby doll prim and the lace detail on the teddy, which is quite intricate. The lace detail on the top of the stockings is very ornate and mirrors the design in the teddy. The set is only L$195 and it also comes in black, white and red. You have a choice of regular or sexy versions where the bra cups are a little more sheer and risque. Stop by the shop, in Midnight Oasis it’s got everything! There are formal gowns, casual outfits, mens’ wear, shoes, skins, as well as some beautiful saris and other pieces of beautiful Indian clothing. This is one of the most comprehensive shops in Second Life and I recommend it highly.

Egyptian Silks from Nubian Angel

060408NAegyptblk.jpgSilks are fantastic fun to wear, and one of my favourite designers of such goodies is definitely Hiri Nurmi of Nubian Angel. She’s recently brought out these Egyptian silks which I just had to share… whether you’re a full time devotee or simply flirt with the idea, you’ll definitely want a set for your wardrobe.

The lace Kef is my favourite of the pair: you rarely see lace silks around, and these are done particularly well. True, the majority of the outfit is jewellery, but then if you’re going to walk around semi-naked, you may as well do it properly…

Black is currently the only colour choice, but that suits me just fine. You’ll find your modesty is (just barely) protected by two tiny cups with suspended ‘k’ pendants in gold: unusual, and certainly rather daring. The upper arms are ensconced with a twist of cast iron, hung with matching pendants on the sides: lower to the left wrist there is a triple strand lace bangle which knots and hangs with gold-tipped excess to the side.

060408NAegyptdtl.jpgThe skirt is well made, stretched lace panels sliding from the hips into a knot above the crotch, with similar to the rear, the neat texturing offering realistic build up of opacity as the layers wrap. The skirt falls long to the front, settling in a straight edge at the floor; the lace is overlaid with a strip of silk bearing a gold-bordered tab, lines of script covering for a very unique styling. Another ‘k’ logo is emblazoned to the base, complimented by the belly jewellery and ankle cuffs made to match the uppers.

If you prefer a little more coverage, then the Goddess silk, shown here in white, is an equally attractive option. There is a top to this set and it conceals the necessary while still allowing plenty of cleavage to show; gold wire wraps the neck 060408NAegyptwht.jpgand crosses to the front, circled to allow for a pendant hanging - two crescents hooked to the framed medallion. The cups have corners sewn about the cables, wire dipping to the back and finished with a trio of beads. I love the shape of the bra tops on Nubian Angel silks… I marvel that I never quite know if I’m wearing them right, but that I don’t really care because I’m happy with how they look anyway. For ease of use Hiri includes two size options, and must admit to feeling a little self conscious at being a ‘small’ and still needing to adjust, but a girl gets over these things quickly enough. If you do need help sizing, two shapes are included with the set for your convenience.

The jewellery for this set is very similar to the previous, although the celestial theme replaces the kef. The skirt for this set is lightly embroidered silk, still set with the scripted front and a chain linked star to finish: the texturing isn’t really done justice in my pictures, but fortunately Hiri has a gold set out on display for you to see clearly. I feel that the wrist and thigh bangles look particularly nice in the opaque sets, the ties and knots more prominent, which is a definite plus when the primwork is so well done.

The Kef silk is also available in black with goddess style jewellery: the goddess silks are available in scarlet, gold, white and are also available with some ankh style jewellery (not shown). Confused? Then get down to Nubian Angel and have a look. It’s not that complicated, I promise!

These retail at $600L each; but while you’re there, you can scoop up the bargain freebie pack which is conveniently situated on the same wall.

Sexy Second Has Issuus

Want a great way to read SexySecond Magazine? Give the pictures of the covers a click and go read them at Issuu.com. It’s a fantastic website that has apparently been around a while but hadn’t made my radar until Celebrity Trollop pointed it out to me.

You can also read many of the great Second Style past issues there. I think they have the first dozen or so up now. I really like reading pdf magazines this way and think it’s a huge step forward for online publishing.

Take a look if you haven’t already, I know that Celebrity mentioned this on Second Style last week and I’ve heard positive things from people who I have sent the link to.
The interface is very friendly and the sizing on the screen is consistent, my two complaints about .pdf readers fixed in one nifty online thingamabob. The best part about Issuu is also the variety of magazines available. Poke around and tell me what you think!

Pretty in Pomegranate

simone_serenade_in_pomegranate_1024_size.jpgSimone Stern is a design goddess!  Not only is she supremely talented, but she’s also put all of her stock up for sale for a paltry 100L each (with the exception of one new limited edition dress).  It had been awhile since I’d bought any Simone formal wear, so I thought I had better go take a look.  Ten dresses later, I had to decide which one to feature.  All of them are gorgeous, so I decided on this one called Serenade in Pomegranate complete with flexi feather boa, gloves and stockings. There’s beautiful, intricate beadwork on the bodice and a subtle sheen to the gloves.  There’s also a repeat of the beading at the hem of the flexi skirt prims.  If you haven’t hit her sale yet, it’s a good idea to go soon.  While I was at the store, Simone announced that after this sale is done, the items would be discontinued.  So run, don’t walk to Simone!

Devilish Cupcake

devilish_cupcake.jpgI was hanging around the grid the other day when it occurred to me to go have a look at Le Zoo. I wanted to see the stores, and I especially wanted to see the build. I recommend you take a few minutes some day and check out the underground aquarium. (If you can’t find the little shed that houses the entrance to the underground, give me a holla and I’ll give you some help).

Anyhow, great stores. I’ve been wanting to check out Devilish Cupcake for ages and was very happy to see one! You see here a brand new set of lingerie called Mary that comes in 5 colors and sells for only 100 a color. The set includes the opaque style shown in black on the right and the sheer, shown in pink. They are like everything that designer Abby Coalcliff offers- well drawn, fresh and imaginative. If you haven’t been, head to Devilish Cupcake and take a look.

devilish_cupcake1.jpg While you’re there, take a walk around Le Zoo. There are some cute freebies, including the slippers I’m wearing to the left. You can sit on a bench, high in a tree, see an underground aquarium and get cute underwear like this, sounds like time well spent.

CREATiVE DECADENCE

030308CDboots1.jpgI like finding new places. New places that sell nice things are especially fun. New places that sell nice boots make me fall to my knees in a state of demented worship.

CREATiVE DECADENCE isn’t entirely new to me: I reviewed some boots from this store a while back on my personal blog* and have to say that Metal Gynoid’s skill has significantly improved since. Not that there’s anything wrong with my Slick ‘N’ Wickeds, but for something a little more detailed and adventurous, the newest additions really have to be considered.

The Dragonblade Thigh High boots cater entirely for your inner dom. The thigh highs sit on a slight platform base, with relatively low spike heel. 030308CDboots.jpgSteel banding secures the foot above the rounded toe and in front of the heel, with buckled straps loose to the ankle and binding the upper and lower legs. Lightly curved spikes protrude on either side to ensure everyone keeps a healthy distance. Centred at the front on a layered lunette, strutted and spiked to the sides, there are dragon-head medallions to provide a focal point. To finish, you’ll find a pair of matching daggers sheathed to the side of the upper thigh, the hilt of each adorned with a meshwork of metal, melding into the guard which is neatly inlaid with a blue gemstone.

The boots come complete with hand daggers in the same style for all your sadistic pleasures: scripting on the boots allows for you to draw your blades, with appropriate pose. Very smooth.

030308CDbootsprot.jpgMetal also sent me a sneak preview for a flat version of this style: they include some very clever scripting that allows for release of a toe-spike on a voice command, plus an armoured/no armoured option to the front of the boot. This feature kept me amused for many minutes: eventually I thought I’d show off, and pulled on a leather catsuit to hit the streets. Of course, I got an ample number of “Hey Sexy” IMs to indicate that these are indeed as attention grabbing as I had predicted.

It isn’t just boots that make a girl happy: futuristic armour which offers little more body coverage than your average fig leaf also does it for me. Enter then Battlequeen Armour, the answer to my naughty prayers.

030308CDarmour.jpgI adore this. I love the way it works around my curves, amplifying, propping and generally promoting in all the right places. Its gentle arcs are extremely complimentary, contrasting with the spiked ends that lay in almost antler formation to the front, with side talons that bend inward as though to kiss the skin. If that wasn’t enough to keep your admirers completely occupied, a disk of red light moves in mesmeric circles to the front: you’ll really have to excuse anyone who has a conversation with your chest, as with this for an excuse they simply won’t be able to help themselves.

The lower coverage really isn’t very modest, but it keeps well with the tone; jutting spear heads flank the triangular kitty-keeper, with side bands curving gently to an onyx cabochon at the rear, and dropping to… well, your naked backside, as it happens. I’m sure no one in the vicinity will be complaining: just stay away from those PG sims.

(Shoes are available separately from the talented Storm Schmooz.)

If you fancy yourself a little piece of CREATiVE DECADENCE, you can pick up the boots for $525L and the armour set for a reasonable $475L. There’s more in store, so get yourself over there and have a good look around.

J Style on the Move

JStyle_Leopard.jpg

I have enough hang-ups about my real life hips to want to worry about my Second Life ones looking a bit on the Ben and Jerry’s side, so I usually avoid mesh skirts and having to dust off my dress form.

Jupi Noel of J Style sent over a couple of outfits the other day that made me change my mind tho. (In fact, in none of these pictures am I wearing my dress form. Either my avatar is losing weight or Jupi has discovered a way to keep the pounds off the mesh skirt!)

Meanwhile, poor Jupi has had to move her store! It seems that through some problem with the Sim, Jupi found herself homeless and has had to relocate her store to Istanbul Edition. (And will open to a new flagship store at Fashion Center in a couple of weeks!) I dropped by to see and found that the leopard dress you see above sells for L$350 and comes with skirt in black too. Honestly, I put this on and was immediately in need of a cool club for dancing. It’s a little Raquel Welch, a little Wilma Flintstone and all fun.

JStyle_paisley.jpg Based on the description and the fact it’s a mesh skirt, I didn’t think I would like this outfit, called Mystic Paisley. The red of the pattern took me by surprise, and I do in fact think the rich bold color is what sold me on it. It comes with two lengths of skirt and a bikini set for only L$400.
Now if you’ll excuse me I’m putting on the leopard and headed out to get my groove on.

Miss Scarlet

scarlet_for_blog_002_copy2.jpgA lot of us are still in the throes of winter so I thought I would cast my thoughts to those sultry summers that, luckily, we can enjoy in Second Life all year around!  With that in mind, I have this sweet little swimsuit that I wanted to show you.  It’s called the Scarlet Printed bikini ~ I’ve chosen this red geometric pattern but it comes in three other really bold floral and retro prints.  The best part is that they are only 50 lindens each!  If there’s a birthday coming up for that someone special to you, there’s even a ‘buy as a gift’ option.  I love this swimsuit because of its distinctive shape and bares a lot of skin without being too showy.  So, get ready to burn up those beaches in this hot little number.  You can get them at Stella’s Mall on Stella Isle.
