I just logged in to publish and found I’d been beaten to the post by Fannie: but since I’d already done my write-up and none of the items we reviewed were the same (phew) I didn’t think this would bore you too much…!

Babette Ultsch of Kitties Lair sent me a couple of items for review, both of which I am very excited about.
I have to start with the boots – purely because I can’t contain myself, and if I don’t rave wildly about them now then I might explode under the pressure. These are Venice boots in Worn Brown, and to my mind they are wearable works of art. The stacked wooden heel is capped in black, and set on an undersole in light tan, detailed with a central stripe and dark tip beneath the toe. The boots are rounded, double banded and buckled around the ankle, and rising into a slouched leg with central panel detail. Downturned cuffs split to the top, curving to an opening at the back which is filled with a floppy leather bow; they sit below the knee, possibly lower if you have legs that stretch to the heavens.
The boots are supplied with a larger calf size for those who are better fed than I am, and there are several other colours available in store. Currently you cannot turn the bling off, but having spoken to Babette she is working on a release in the near future that will allow for this, as well as a dialogue option to change the trim colour. For anyone who knows a little about modding scripts (well, deleting them), the script is hidden in the trim parts, so you can effectively wipe the bling yourself if you don’t like it as the boots are copy/mod.
Kitties Lair also stocks outfits, and ‘Tiffany’ really caught my eye. You can never have too many little black cocktail dresses (and I will continue to argue that point with my therapist), and this one immediately grabs attention as you float by. Tiffany has a daring plunge neckline, broken by two buckles that join across the torso, combining sheer mesh side panels with the opaque surrounds. The back is crossed and then lies open to the lower back, with a single thread across the spine.
The underskirt sweeps in an unusual cut, a slanted mini to the front with a longer length behind. This is overlaid with layered mesh hung at different lengths, short and choppy at the front with a longer more even line to the rear. This is creative and distinctive, giving this little black dress an edge that I am very fond of.
The black areas are very matt, and on my avatar there was a small seaming issue where the top and bottom join (you can just see flesh peek through) although I tried a couple of other shapes on to varying effect. You may not notice this at all, or you may simply find it a negligible flaw. It certainly wasn’t enough to put me off. The dress also comes with drop diamond earrings with bling – I don’t like super sparklies on my person, but if this is your thing then it’s a nice extra with the set.
Kitties Lair has plenty more to sate your clothing desires, so take a wander down and see for yourself.
Venice (Worn Brown), $480L ; Cocktail Dress Tiffany Black, $280L
