Tanlines…Brilliant!

Tanlines.jpg

New skinner Joan Philbin was given a thoughtful and thorough review by our incredible Arabeth Laval last week. Joan’s endearing IM of thanks was such that I paid attention when she dropped a sample pack of her skins on me as a thank you to the SexySecond team. I was thrilled to find skins in there with tanlines, which is, it seems, a new line that her store, SLippery, has just come out with. All I have to say is brilliant. I’ve been waiting for some good tanlines, they can be wonderfully sexy.

The idea of stripping down for someone, and showing them the parts that even the sun hasn’t seen, makes stripping down that much more fun. Slippery’s skins are good, the tanlines are well executed, and the whole look is something I like. (I even wore one when doing the picture of Simone’s towel wrap yesterday and forgot to mention it). SLippery  There’s a normal tanline skin, which is very subtle, and an extreme, where the white parts have clearly not been touched by the sun. Each of the two shades is L$600. With each shade you get two makeups. (The best part about SLippery is that L$300 per skin is high for them!)
While these won’t replace my everyday skin, yet, they will be fun to wear to the nude beach or some other skin friendly venue. Put down the sunscreen, head to SLippery and give them a try.

Style Starts Here

Simone_012.jpg

I know it’s not right that I keep trotting out these sexy things from a store that doesn’t open for a couple of days, but there is a method to my madness.

Alright, method might be too strong a word. It might be more that I never have time to blog as many outfits as the prolific and talented Simone Stern sent over and have to do them in fits and starts. That’s sort of a method isn’t it?

Here’s what we know so far:
1. Simone Stern is launching something big on Feb. 1st.
2. It will be called Style Starts Here and can be found here.
3. It is FULL of cute things. Look at this little Valentine’s Day Towel wrap! It is exactly the sort of thing I would have searched for in real life back when I was young and romantic and still had time to plan those Valentine Getaways with my baby.

Simone_006.jpg In addition to the lingerie you’ve already seen, and that you see here (just LOOK at this babydoll! and you wouldn’t believe the detail on the sheer corset, the beadwork embroidery literally pops at you, it is tasteful and stunning!!), you will find casuals for all occasions.

Style Starts Here opens Feb 1st, with a special preview for group members on the 31st. Go, look, shop, get yourself something gorgeous. You deserve it!

Gracie Girl on the Move

gracie_001.jpgBig things are going on with Grace Winnfield of Gracie’s, in RL and in SL. Sticking to the SL, her store is moving and also moving toward a more casual line of designs.

Currently, you can get the clothes shown here at this location. Sometime in February, you will be going to her new location, which is here, or to just keep up with the move, check her blog. I stopped by the new location and yes, there’s a building…new locations are always exciting.

Which gets us to the clothes. Sweaters and pants are not our usual fare here at SexySecond, but as I’ve said in the past and as I’ll say again and a again, anything nice is sexy, and these are such a bargain you’ll want to kiss me for introducing them to you. How sexy is that?
gracie_005.jpg Above you see Argile Runway, an 8 piece set that includes the sweater, bow and pants you see, all for only L$275. You don’t see that there is also a skirt with prim attachments and honestly, I’d pay L$275 just for the sweater and the bow.

To the left you see Urban Chic, which is a cute knit sweater and pants. The texturing here is going to be a love it or hate it experience for most, as the strong weave of the wool pants and knit of the sweater make these bold choices to wear about. The set comes with the sweater in two colors and several prim attachments (shoulders and two looks for the pant legs’ flare). Urban chic is only L$225.

Cheering for the Spirit Team

Patriots_Cheer.jpgSavannahAnn McMillan of Spirit just sent over something fun. Check it out, you can be a sexy NFL cheerleader while you watch the Superbowl next weekend. SavannahAnn has created oodles of mix and match outfits in the colors of the NFL teams that have cheerleaders, and with what looks to be a bunch of different options for each team, you can have a lot of fun just picking your outfit!

I’m modeling a couple of the New England Patriots inspired outfits here. The belt is actually a separate outfit painted on the pants layer, while the shorts are very cool lace-up bootie shorts I’m wearing on the panty level. (All the shorts and tops come on all possible levels for maximum mixing and matching). I’m also wearing the crop top, boots and superfun and well made flexi pom poms. I believe that everything is available as its own item for just L$50, the boots, which finish the outfit beautifully but require adjustment, are L$100.

SavanahAnn’s textures are getting to be very rich while her selection is expanding, a good combination for certain. I’ve been wearing a pair of her Cheering shorts off and on for a while now when I’m just goofing around, and the new white leather booty shorts (think Dallas Cowboy cheerleaders) may just replace them.

While I’ve got you, let me mention that the skin I’m wearing is from SLippery, which Arabeth reviewed here earlier this week and I love! If you haven’t tried them yet do so, each makeup is only L$250! The hair is  Lilith from Goldie Locks. Rah!

More Simone Sneak Peek

simone2.jpgsimone.jpgI’m back to tease you with more goodies that Simone Stern will release next week as part of her massive new Style Starts Here line. From what I understand, they’re shooting for a February 1st launch, with a sneak peak for group members on the 31st. I’ve seen some of the things she’ll release and believe me, you will be stunned. There is an enormous collection of fantastic clothing.

The lingerie is top drawer, as Simone’s designs always are. Some of the names of the outfits are still in flux, but the laced up corset to the far left is incredible, with fine lace giving way to sheer space among intricate embroidery. The strapless corset next to it has rich textures that are striking from afar and details that will amaze you up close. Each comes with an incredible number of choices for wearing it on all possible layers. I think that each will be offered in a number of colors and will be priced in range of L$250 per color.

Trust me, you’ll be amazed when this place opens.

SLippery Skin

I’m an incredibly opinionated sort of girl, and so when people actually ask me what I think of something (anything) I am very quick to pass on feedback. Unfortunately I am not always so speedy when it comes to a formal write up, because these things do tend to take me a while to put together. Of course I do eventually push other things aside long enough to come up with the goods, and so here I am ready to share with you a new release from a new label: SLippery.

SLipperyskins.jpgCreator Joan Philbin has made a collection of skins, with fifteen make ups to suit. The Natural Skins are priced at $250L each, or $2000L for the lot. If price tags like that aren’t enough to peak your interest, take a look at the goods.

The first detail that caught my eye was on the breasts. Yes, that’s where your gaze is pulled and held, because of the pink and perky nipples that are actually not quite symmetrical. The colouring is spot on, and the execution just as good, so if naked exposure is what’s important to you then I don’t think this area will be any kind of disappointment. Cleavage is amply defined for a nice look under your skimpiest tops.

The body is well toned and worked well on the various shapes I tried, the lines of the torso remaining undistorted. Certainly this looks fantastic on the typical waif, and I have no qualms in wearing all kinds of revealing costumes, or indeed none at all.

Back onto the naughty bits: this is the natural version of the skin, with complete carpeting. It’s really rather nicely done, although quite how devoted to your art you must be to spend hours slaving over each individual hair is a little beyond my imagining. Best not to complain though, for a girl should look her best in whatever state of undress she may be caught. I especially approve of the shading at the joins here, which works beautifully.

The front is more defined than the back, which has more hazed detail on the shoulder blades, spine and elbows. The markings are there, but it doesn’t share the same level of care that was paid to the front, particularly with highlighting to the upper body. A shame indeed, but I can forgive it. The buttocks are polished and neatly shadowed, the skin radiating a healthy glow which runs to the backs and fronts of the legs. The knees, backs of knees and feet are pretty indeed, but you will need to cover up the ankles which lack their own sense of structure.

SLipperymakeups.jpgJoan sent me two makeups to try: ‘Cinnamon’ and ‘Glamour’. The names make them sound delicious, and indeed I found both to be suited to its style. Cinnamon is a strong day look in rich earth tones, with full and neatly lined lips that certainly suited my current style. The eyebrows are petite, delicately arched above smoky eyes: I love the kohl effect and the blended surround, especially in this tone. The chin has a little shadow that falls beneath the lips, which I also picked up on, but again nothing that would prevent me from wearing these out and about.

Glamour was also pretty, the eyes similar but with a matt red lipstick, cheeks catching the light and dusted with blush to either side. If you’re looking for makeup that can be easily worn and matched with most of your wardrobe, these are definitely solid choices, and for the price you can’t really argue.

I do believe these are based on Eloh Eliot’s skin templates, although the work done is all hand drawn.

Just remember with any skin, try demos before you buy to prevent disappointment: to see how sexy you look in a SLippery skin, why not drop in to the store?

Seriously Sexy

indy.jpgSometimes an outfit just shrieks sexy, and the outfit Indyra Seigo gave me to review simply does. Named Dominate 2.0, this Indyra Original outfit is fairly simple and comprised of stockings, an undershirt and underpants, and two prim strings. However it takes simple to a new level with the saucy see through bodice and sheer pants, with the bows strategically placed on either side. Dominate 2.0 sells for L$250 and comes only in basic black.

Coupled with this simple outfit are some seriously sensual boots Indyra calls Coquette Noir: DV-8. They are sold in 6 colors Black, Pink, White and Blue patent leather and White and Red hot which are their respective colors with Black soles. Priced at L$550 I would run not walk for these boots.

These boots are some serious sexy and added to the sultry outfit, it becomes a dynamic duo.

My heart belongs to Simone!

Heart_lingerie.jpgValentine’s day is a little way off yet - but I simply could not resist this absolutely adorable little number from Simone! - surely enough to melt any heart. The Sheer Hearts Lingerie set has a cheeky little sense of humour about it that your sweetheart is sure to love, you little minx!

Included in the ensemble are stockings, panties, two top options - with and without the sheer heart detailing - and gloves. The texturing is delicious, the heart looks so silky that you (or he!) will want to reach out and touch it. And it comes with layer options, which make this particular burley girl very happy indeed. After all, it’s so much easier to perform a striptease when you’re not desperately trying to hot-swap clothing!

Heart_lingerie_2.jpg

As well as the classic red, you can pick up this set in pink or purple. Or all three. At $L150 it’s hardly going to break the bank if you do.

Also wearing:

Jewellery: Paper Couture, Black Pearl Set: L$250

Skin: Tete a Pied, Boudoir 3: $L500

Hair: ETD, Sofia: Currently on sale at L$25

Zipz! - She’s on Fire

I’ve introduced quite a few of my friends to this store: it’s one I found by chance one day and have been a huge fan of eversince. It’s huge, stocking clothes, jewellery, tattoos and probably other things I haven’t discovered yet: the designs are pretty fantastic, but I just love Dunja Hian’s creations.

200108ZipzLunar.jpgLunar is really a hybrid of body art and club wear. I adore it. The artistic merits of this outfit will transform you into a gallery exhibit, but if people want to stand around examining me and making suggestions as to what the designer and indeed the model are feeling/thinking, I am sure I am capable of dealing with all that extra attention.

The neck is rimmed with silver, metal spiking and curling in a free-moving pattern. The polish is evident, ruby stones set at intervals for added vibrancy, their surfaces clear and defined. The leather beneath sits tight to the skin, following and filling the twisting overlay which seems congruous to back and front.

The panties centre on a gemstone flower, scrolling details flowing in silver throughout. The trouser legs are high to either side, more metalwork reaching upward and curving around the buttocks and high up the thighs at the front, tripping easily down either leg where they stop at the knee, allowing for a plain bootleg flare to the base. Should you prefer, a pleated black skirt may substitute, drawing your attention fully to the body work and ornate arm sheathes.

200108ZipzFire.jpgIf that’s not hot enough, you can set yourself on fire with this little number, again with the pants and short skirt options, and also a long skirt which I haven’t shown for the simple reason that I couldn’t get everything in the picture. This set comes in a deep crimson, the edges charred and cut at angles in a distinct flame motif, reemphasised with a red and gold blaze licking up the bodice.  There is very little to the back: a double chain holds everything together, with links to the front to seal the keyhole opening.

The same features on the panties, which can be worn alone or with the set trousers, which hang from short chains at either side. They’re shaded with highlights to the knees, the inferno graphic flaring on the thighs: the skirt is similarly drawn with symmetrical fires on each panel. The longer version reaches the floor, the pattern exaggerated and enlarged to reach half way up the thigh.

Zipz! clothing is always very reasonably priced. Permissions tend to be transfer and no copy, so you can get your wear out of them between all of your alts (or your friends if they don’t object to your hand-me-downs). The quality is excellent, and while this isn’t your average fashion house, it does produce the most amazing club wear. If you want something very sexy, a little out of the ordinary, or just fancy seeing some inspired fantasy design, you really need to check out Zipz!

Lunar, $198L ; Red Fire $239L
