Apple May Designs was recommended to me by a friend, and when I stopped by I immediately picked out this pretty little number. ‘Warrior’ seemed like a curious choice of name to me, but I didn’t spend too long questioning: I’d sooner be enjoying.
The dress has a low-cut neckline and sits off the shoulder, with long sleeves that extend into rumpled bell cuffs. Jagged lacework extends to the backs of the hands for an unusual styling; this seems to be a follow through of the detail in the skirt.
The chest is softly clad and propped with a stiff panel that extends down to the stomach, triple buckled across the middle with evenly spaced straps. The material across the sides and back is tight to the skin, contrasting with the front section which is equally divided, the fabric then pulled in neat swags.
The skirt meets the dip to the front, short pleats that sit at rigid angles from the body. A tattered mesh underskirt juts from beneath, not offering much by way of warmth or modesty, but giving plenty of attitude to the outfit. I appreciate this little detail as it makes the design stand out from dozens of others which could be quite similar.
Apple May Designs stocks plenty of flirty party dresses among other styles, so if you want something affordable but well made, it’s definitely worth having a look.
