Coconut Ice

Don’t do scary at Hallowe’en, but still feel like a bit of fancy dress? You could do a lot worse than this unseasonal, impractical but completely fabulous Summer Faerie outfit from Coconut Ice.
The top of the outfit comes on the jacket layer, detailed to the front with the leaf and wisteria pattern that themes this outfit. It is held with silvered cords that stretch at the sides and cross to the back. The crafting is immaculate; while symmetrically designed, each leaf is realistically cut and tapered to conceal all the necessaries. Despite this showing off more than its fair share of skin, it’s perfectly modest and suitable for even a PG party.
I adore the prim skirts that sit on doubled wires to the waist. Peppered with tiny wisteria jewels for some added glitz, the overlapping flexi leaves flutter gently about your legs. The full skirt is strategically gapped to ensure your thighs will slide into view when you move into the appropriate poses, but you will find variations on the skirt to allow for some personal styling. The skirts come in two sizes, but can be taken apart prim by prim and resized (upwards) for your convenience.
While floaty armbands are usually my weak spot - and these dainty little drapes do make me want excuses to throw my arms above my head - it was the wings from this outfit that really seduced me. Sprouting from budding twigs, the segmented gauze ripples in movement, the opacity still allowing you to admire the rest of the costume beneath. Uneven scalloped edges lend a delicacy to this that is irresistible: all the angels and succubae will be seething with envy when you arrive at the party in this.
You may have noticed a little bit of sparkle in the pictures: while I don’t usually like bling, when you’re a button-nosed pixie wearing naught but twigs and flower heads, a little twinkle here and there seems perfectly natural. If you enjoy particle effects, the set also includes a set of wings that come with their own, but I think this draws quite enough attention to itself without anything extra added.
Andromeda Raine is quite a marvel, and if you haven’t already picked out your party gear, you should definitely have a look at Coconut Ice over the weekend.
